Well thought I'd never make it into this thread but today was the day. A girl made a left turn in front of me from opposite direction and I basically T boned her with the front right corner as she never looked. She got a ticket, I got the fucked up car. Will be handling insurance tomorrow. Knee air bag deployed below steering wheel. Went to the clinic for nausea to make sure I didn't have a concussion. I can say the lower air bag saved my legs from getting messed up. Just some red marks there. But, sad day indeed...

Man this entire thread hurts so bad and is not one I am proud to be a part of. My adjuster just called me and said they were totaling mine out. I have new car replacement not sure how that works guess I will find out.

I almost got rear ended today in my 1 week old GT PP. I was stopped behind a car waiting to turn left and had no where to go and I could see him in my rear view not slowing down. I was already trying to figure out how I was going to kill him and make it look like an accident but he veered off the road and before he hit me.

I got rearended in a similar fashion this winter in my jeep. I saw them coming and I went off the right of the road to try and get out of the way and they still hit me. Insurance ended up telling me that had I not pulled off to the right, they could have avoided me so my maneuver made me partially at fault. Luckily, I only had minor damage to my right rear wheel. I ended up having a car fax on that jeep though that hurt my trade value.

Tell us what happened then. Was it the car infront of you's fault? Did he reverse onto you?

guys. just because someone gets into an accident does not make them a terrible driver. my 2015 Mustang Gt has been hit 3 times since i bought it in february. once while parked, and twice i was rear ended while stopped at a stop light. my dad once told me, if you dont have anything to say, dont say anything at all. sound advice from an old guy.

how long did it take to get repaired when you got rear ended?

I just got rear ended yesterday it should only require a new bumper cover exhaust, passenger side tire and maybe tail lights

depending on availability of parts. The bumper covers are readily available but the lights will come from Detroit depot if they don't come vendor direct, which may take 3-5 days at least.

Probably looking at 2 weeks or so.

for the amount of damage I had to my car (3k) they quoted me 14 days to do it right. but there was minor body work that needed to be completed and painting etc...
like Zemedici said, plan on two weeks.

"Jake 87": I was 6 inches from having an SUV do the same thing to my convertible (with only 87 miles on it!). The idiot did a left turn from a right turn lane across my front. Luckily, I was slow in accelerating when the light turned green (I always look to my left to make sure that there isn't anyone deciding to run the red light)
