Don't care about Video. Anything I want to do with Video, I have multiple Go-Pros for and they are perfect for what I do.
Why mirrorless over dSLR?

I would recommend basically any crop sensor mirrorless, Sony and Fujifilm are both big players in this category. Full frame lenses will be more than you're willing to spend as a hobbyist.

Because mirrorless is better with video, the continuous auto focus is great for live action still shots.

On a cold snowy February day, how about a little reminder of some Summer fun? This was from "Thunder over Michigan" 2016. If you have never been to an air show I highly recommend you go at least once. Especially if the P-51's will be there. I think I took some 300 pictures, and seven were good. Nikon D5500 with a 300mm telephoto.

Airshows! I attended one back in 2014 in Rochester, NY with the Air ForceThunderbirds. A friend of mine knew the perfect place to watch it from as it was on a slight hill. Used a Nikon D700 and 80-400VR AF lens. Notice on the upper jet, the inverted number just for this maneuver. Shot at 1/1000th of a second.
