I think there is a bug in the ECM software that under some circumstances will cause the advance track to activate even when the driver has it switched off. I have seen it in some of my logs.
it can error and reboot, yes. Its rare. It chimes the dash and pops up a message, then, a few seconds later its back on. If you are distracted or busy you could miss the dash message and possibly not notice. In 9+ years I’ve never seen it come back on ‘silently’, its always with this dash message error.

usually takes a hub going out, or a slippery odd bump or patch of gravel.

honestly I havent seen it in a while in my car but with all the traction control off driving I do at events I’d see it a couple times a year.

Really ? Interesting. I heard that was the only way to disable clutch protection. Hence the switch I made.
I can't imagine why the clutch protection would be managed by anything outside of the PCM. HPT summarizes them nicely but I'm sure there are dozens more in PCMTec.

The entire PCM architecture is based on torque control and has been for many years, so there is no getting rid of it completely.

The TC/AT are managed outside of the PCM in one of the many other modules, and that part is what the "dyno plug" disables.

That said, there is a "dyno mode" built into the PCM that you can switch on. No idea what it does, though.

You basically made a switch that turns off AT faster that the stock switch. Just a click instead of holding it down. You never know when you'll need to click it off real fast. Can't be losing to some Camaro because of stupid traction control. Lol

it was just something the forum said makes yer car faster. I tested, and it's complete bullshit.

The thing I did find out was :

Bias plies slowed me down . Never went better than a 1.8 60ft's on a 28x11.5x17 ET STREET R BIAS .
Radials didn't slow me down. Consistent 1.6 60ft's on a 305/45R17 ET STREET R .

Radials are trickier to manage though especially with a manual trans.
