For the last 3 months I have been trying to buy a 2017 in SoCal at the best price possible. After a few attempts I had two opportunities to buy at MSRP +6k. The first offer of MSRP +6k, I wasn't ready to jump on. But the second offer of +6, I was willing to go +4, but was still declined. I was made this last offer of +6 on Friday. It was the need to make a decision that prompted me to aggressively pursue all my other options. On Saturday I stopped by one dealership and told them that I had to make a decision on +6. That dealer told me that I should jump on that offer as it was a good deal, because they would only do +10.

Firm on my color choice and my resolution to purchase, I walked out of that dealership got in my car and called an Oregon dealer that had the perfect car listed on Cars.com, within 5 minutes I had a verbal for MSRP. By the end of the day I had a deposit placed and credit run and was approved to pick up the car or arrange shipping. The next day, Sunday, I booked a flight for Tuesday. I drove home Tuesday and Wednesday. Conveniently my daughter lives in the middle, so I even had a free place to stay and an impromptu family visit. A $350 plane flight and I save $6,000 plus another $540 in sales tax on the additional increase. I just had to suffer (haha....) and drive the car down the California coast.

It appears that there is still just too much demand locally to be able to negotiate MSRP in SoCal. If dealers are getting big ADM's, it is hard to blame them. But on the flip side, it is just a matter of time before ADM's don't hold. Just not yet.

That's the way to do it, and well worth the effort. Congrats on your GT350.

Stopped by the local friendly Ford dealer today. They have a R, white with blue stripes, absolutely beautiful. Salesman said that a Ford employee had a option for a GT350R at employee cost which is below MSRP ??? Some people have all the luck. :ford::ford::ford::ford:
Hmmm, I had heard there was no employee discount on the GT350. I know there is no X plan pricing on the GT350 or R. Maybe that changed but seems odd that Ford would take a high profit margin car and sell it for less than MSRP to an employee.

MSO? Is this the package we get from Ford? No I just picked the car up two days ago on Tuesday.

Thanks you all. This is truly a special car! :)

To register the car here in CA you need a MSO and bill of sale,
along with smog test and vin inspection.

I'll be doing the same and was unaware of this MSO. Still not sure what it is but will be sure to ask for it - thanks!

Ok.... cool... I will look in my paperwork. I did know that I will need a smog. Fortunately, I am a AAA member and they don't treat you like dirt like at the DMV. So hopefully they can walk me through everything.

Are you talking about the "MCO" which is the "Manufacturers Certificate Of Origin" from Ford Motor Credit?

I bought my 2015 Shelby GT350 on the "MCO" and have never titled the car to this day and still hold this car on the "Bill Of Sale".

AAA can not do dealer sold out of state cars....
Either make a DMV appointment or pay one of the private DMV services,
if they are authorized.

Read up on the DMV website on what all this entails, they are pretty
through with the information, and good to bone up so you do not have
surprises.

Lastly, it is called a: Certificate of origin, but many refer to it as a MSO/MCO
Since the manufacturer provides it, so the "M" .

In any event a must have, along with bill of sale/sales order, etc.
Odo statement, any any tax paid statements.

Just FYI, a dealer in Texas (I live in Louisiana) just sent me an offer for $5k below MSRP on a 17 350. They are following up from when I was searching a few months back. Seems prices may be falling.

I am inclined to ask the dealer "What's wrong with the car?". What's the catch?

Hopefully, nothing is wrong with the car, and you've just found a heck of a deal

Can't see it not being a mistake. Pretty sure they pay more for it themselves.
