I'm confused.

Is it 500 for the entire 2.5 year run or per year?

And someone 2 posts above you said "we havent hit 200 yet"?

The sales manager told me "this is 1 out of 132" built.
Likely talking about color/option package out of the 500 2016 Rs made, you cant be new to all of this

Maybe, it's 1 of 137 2015s? In which case you had better give up that $7k quick. lol

Interesting...most buyers are far more educated than the folks selling the cars and particularly with the r model. If you are listening to the sales guys be wary...do more homework and walk away...

Dtmaso - my R order went in 4/19, and was pulled last week 9/22, with a build date of 10/24, don't give up yet.
Thanks, Mach4.6, and congratulations to you! Keep us posted. You are one of the lucky ones.

But if nothing else, I've learned through others' experiences on this forum that the order date does not directly impact the allocation date. I'm confident I'll get my car just as ordered, but a little later than I hoped. By the time it comes, all this waiting will be a distant memory.

The juice will be worth the squeeze.

I'm going to be honest here and this is what is bothering me about the R. Now before you read, as much as this clearly is not the right decision for me. I am looking for ways to convince myself that it is.

When I think about these two cars, I see these problems:

- Cost:60,620 vs 74,300 + 1,000 (seats) + 2,000 (new set of PSS) tires = The difference is around $17,000.
- Practicality: The front splitter on the R costs $4,600? It was at some point $1,600 but the price when back up to $4,600 again. I am going to daily drive this car, can you imagine what will happen to it? Then there are the wheels. I am not going to spend another 3-4k on a new wheel set just so that I can keep these wheels clean and perfect. Whats the point of getting an R then? I will use them of course.

So in reality, I am paying $17,000 more for the same car with some upgrades. Not to mention, this car with its expensive splitter and wheels doesnt sound like a car that you want to drive to walmart or to the beach. I seriously will though. I will park my M5 in the garage except when it snows because I got a brand new set of snow tires for it, and I will use the R for anything from driving to the train station to school to beach to groceries to you name it.

You see why even at 7k over I am hesitant? First the cost difference is almost 30%, its not just "7k". It sounds like it but its not. Then even after having paid all that there is a good chance I will fuck something up with either the splitter or wheels and feel really bad?

Not even go into the loudness of the exhaust from a practicality perspective and how it will wake up my neighbors at 7am. I honestly dont care about that one:)

Lastly I also think that given the success of this car, Ford will use the same CF wheels etc in the new car. While Vodooo will retain its iconic status, I hardly believe these R specific things will stay unique making the car less desirable (not worth ADM).

Convince me to buy this car given all its negatives:)

. You are like a broken record of nonsense. Do you have to post on a forum to ask people when you should take a shit as well? For a self proclaimed car buying genius you sure act like a moron

No one has to convince you...don't buy the car. Pass it along to another forum member and your problem is solved.

Problem with that is he already tried that. He gave the dealer who had a GT350 for MSRP to 5 people via PM. This had the dealer start a bidding war for a car that had been sitting for a while. I believe that car sold for 7-10 ADM. He was a BIG help, for that dealer.

The forum admins should limit his posts per day. No more than 10. He would be done by 9 am and we can enjoy the rest of the day....hahaha
