6 months and it still hasnt hit production? And you think that will change?

If it were me, I would get my money back a month after waiting.
Thanks for your advice, but I know what my patience is worth. I don't need the car so badly right this moment as to pay the high ADMs here on the west coast.

Is the car you are negoiting a car that is on the show room floor or one you can order? If it is on the floor and not exactly what you want then pass...if you can get exactly what you want and when it will be available ...maybe a tough decision.

Its on the showroom, not my primary color. The base car which I have for MSRP is custom built to my liking.

I think finding a custom R allocation with a reasonable price is an extremely rare if not impossible thing to accomplish.

The dealer with the R couldnt sell theirs for 4.5 months at $40k over.

Think about what I mentioned early on the 5k vs 7k. Over 60 months if you keep the car it is about 1 dollar more a day. What do you really want and when?? You have a deal at msrp which seems to be what you are comfortable with. If the dealer went to 5k over would you buy it or try to lower the price more? Only questions you can answer....if you wait long enough maybe you can get one at msrp or less. My guess is something new and better will be announced and you will have the same decisions to make on the latest and greatest unless you really want the R at 5k or lower. Not an easy decision for you ...money aside...what do you really want and when...time is money...if you want the car now you may have to pay more than you would like to ...or you can wait...who knows what the price will reduce to..
I dont think a 2017 R model will ever get to these levels I am negotiating unless it is on the lot for 3-4 months and its an older model.

However

I do think if a 2016 model is still on the showroom by December, a better deal can be had, but the probability of that ever happening is so slim considering 132 cars were built in 2016 (a sales manager told me, quoting him).

I scanned the entire mid west and eastern seaboard and I found 6-7 2016 models.

7k over is probably as good as it gets.

I wonder if there is a way to not pay sales tax on the markup?

I have $5,000 down as deposit for the MSRP deal. Car finished production.

I just got off the phone with the GM for the R deal, they won't go down a penny more than $7k ADM.

Decision time.
I will show you decision time. Give me the GM number and i will be happy to give him 7k over msrp for the R

I agree with you....it was easier to get a deal on a R when the dealers didn't know what they had. Now all the 17's are marked up like crazy...and my concern was not being able to find one.

Nothing wrong with the base car, but I like exclusivity (even though most folks will just think it's a Mustang). Getting a bunch of flack from my friends already...hahaha

I'm curious on what color the 2 R's are that you were looking at. You can PM me.

Apparently you have not researched enough on here, build date and order date are not at all linked and if your R wasnt built by now it wont be built until spring due to the production halt on Rs through the winter months

I put $5000 deposit down on my R 4/15 for MSRP. However, proof is in the putting - once it arrives and the deal is done. Until then it's not an MSRP deal.

Still impatiently waiting for allocation to be picked up.
Dtmaso - my R order went in 4/19, and was pulled last week 9/22, with a build date of 10/24, don't give up yet.

Lol, I don't even think they've hit 200 out of the ~500 yet.

I paid a 5k adm on my 16 Tech car in July. The car was bought by my dealer from another dealer. It is exactly what I would have ordered if I ordered one, only way I would have possibly went would be black with red stripes but I don't think that's even an option. That being said I was unaware the tech cars didn't come with coolers. I hadn't done enough research as I really wasn't in the market to buy a car. I thought the 350s were awesome but I have allot going on and buying another toy car was way out on my list of things to do. So I'm driving by the dealer on Saturday and see the car being unloaded from an enclosed trailer. I pulled in to check it out, started talking to the sales manager, just bullshiting with him, very clear that I was not a buyer. So the following Monday after obsessing about the car all day Sunday I called and asked a salesman what they wanted for the car. He said 10k over. I told him I would pay sticker, he says, I'm sorry I can't. They had turned down a 2k over offer that morning already. So I drove over thinking I may get somewhere in person. When I get there a guy with a newer Vette is checking the car out. I asked if he was buying it, salesman says they are working on a deal. I said let me know what happens I'm interested and gave them my number. I get down the road and he calls. He says they settled on 5k over and the guy is going to "think about it over night". So I say "yea, I'd have to think about that too". The salesman says well its first come first serve as no one has put a deposit down. I decided I wanted the car, went in the next morning and was signing the paperwork, the guy from the previous afternoon walks in and I hear him say "I'll take it", sales manager says your a half hour too late. While I'm still there another guy comes in asking about it. Sorry for the book but the bottom line is I bought it, paid 5k over, and have never looked back. Zero fucks given about adm paid. I love the car and just having it in the garage makes me smile every time I think about it. Worth every penny.

~500 2016 Rs. 137 was the total 2015 production of GT350s & Rs.

I'm confused.

Is it 500 for the entire 2.5 year run or per year?

And someone 2 posts above you said "we havent hit 200 yet"?

The sales manager told me "this is 1 out of 132" built.
