Negotiate but just get it done, who knows what credit markets will look like come September. Not only that but its a whole summer to have fun with that you'd be wasting to save a few K. I consider that opportunity cost well worth it.

..... The little devil on my shoulder says "with all of the crap going on in the world, you may not be alive when that car comes in. And you'll miss a track day or two by then. You ain't gettin' no younger, old man."......
Fear is the most powerful of the emotional motivators.

Try making your decision without the fear factor.

Besides, 99.5% of people survive COVID, so relax.

Don't want a PP2. Everything I read says it's a very stiff ride.
The PP2 is just like the PP1 and GT, in that you can adjust your drive modes. In normal and sport it is very compliant and not too stiff. My 19 had a $47 K sticker and i custom ordered and waited 6 months. No regrets, got exact,y what i wanted...cloth Recaro, AE, 301A. No extra junk i dont need . Test drive and discover if you like the PP2, too :)

Op, since it sounds like you are seriously considering a Mustang GT, please let me give you my 2 cents.

I own a Bullitt with MagneRide. And, I own an A10 2018 Premium with the optioned stock 20" wheels that come with 265s on all corners. No question the A10 rides better. Much better. Is it as good in the curves? Nearly so as I drive both cars back to back depending on whether I'm in the mood to shift (gearing was too long on the Bullitt for my tastes, hence the Whipple) or just nail it with the A10 and/or paddle shift.
My brother who is 70 and his last muscle car was a 1970 Roadrunner 48 years ago, doesn't like automatic transmissions or red cars (the '18 is red) has gone on and on about how much more he likes the A10. And, he hates autos!

The stock ride on the A10 is much better and truthfully, if you do not like the stiffer ride of the PP1, even with MagneRide, try the stock GT with the optional 20" tires.

Also, even with the Whipple, I can't get my Bullitt's 0-60 under 5 seconds with the stock Michelins. The A10 does consistent 0-60 at 4.5 seconds all day long with the stock tires. Just nail it.

Nice write up.

PS: I can drive your Bullitt for a while, if you wish :like:

Thank you for the thoughtful post. I am leaning toward the Bullitt because it has the performance package, and I do plan to track the car. I could buy a base car and add all of the upgrades I need for the track, but then I end up spending as much money on a car that will have worse resale. I don't keep cars very long, typically. Fickle, I am.

But... It's certainly a consideration. I shall ponder some more.

I think I've changed my mind.

@GreenS550 made me rethink this.

I'm going to buy a base GT car. I will modify it for track duty. I will save about $15K plus I won't take such a huge bath when I sell it it two years.

I never keep cars longer than 2 years.

Fyi still a lot of 2019 out there and shipping is is not that much. I found my pp1, magna , Ae, A10, 301a car in the color I wanted. I had to ship from Virginia to mich, 20% off the sticker. Shipping was$500

Nah - if you have smooth roads its fine. The PP2 has the same Magneride suspension which is great. The tramlining w PSC2s happens, but on smooth road, no big deal, and in the twisties the PP2 is fantastic

Huh. So no PP1, no Magneride, no Active Exhaust? I mean, if most of your focus is building a competent track car for the weekends, I guess that makes sense, if it's to have a really satisfying car for track, street, daily, etc.[?] MR, BTW, is really kickass on track too, it's why it's on the GT350 and GT500 and Corvettes, and ZL1s and most high[er] performance vehicles.

Certainly not trying to convince you of anything, it just seemed like you posted on Friday with one set of desires, and now a couple of days later, did a a bit of a 180, and the only reason I mention it, is because your opening post mentioned the stiffness of the M2, the downside to using it as a DD, etc.

You will take a bath and car dealers love people like you.

Oh, wanted to add, if I was doing a manual, I'd probably consider the PP2, not a fan of the wheel/tire setup for DD (or even in the looks department), but that's easily resolved, and to be honest, I'd probably even think about a GT350, but I've since converted to the church of The A10 :D
