I also don’t have a dog in the fight, but your numbers are off, ford sells in the tens of millions per year worldwide…

…now if you’re gonna be cheeky and ignore; the truck market, the Lincoln brand, and nothing but auto sales in the US then maybe you have an argument 😉

4.2 million last year, reported by multiple sources.

Not sure what the point is. EV sales world wide are less then 15%. If you want buy one, knock yourself out.

I had no idea that they pushed production to half of Ford's volume until I saw the news story. That's the point. 2.6% of all vehicles produced in the world are Teslas. On par with GM and Ford. It's an American success story.

Tesla is a powerhouse and best EV on the market. They sell more in the 'luxury' segment than any other luxury manufacturer. If I remember, they sold over 490K vehicles in North America and passed BMW for the first time. GLobal sales were 1.4 Million.

I'll likely never own one, but am a big supporter for the company and technology.

I think it's awesome that America has a newer startup car company. It's extremely difficult to break into the market, as the big players do not want competition. There are so many regulations on auto manufacturing, it really stifles creativity and prevents us from getting more choices. I don't think these statements are political, because both sides of the aisle continue to write more and more regs.

Anyway, unless Tesla starts making gas engine cars I might never buy one. However, if gas engine cars become illegal and I can no longer buy gas or any other substitute fuel for ICE vehicles, I'd probably choose a Tesla if they offer even a remotely competitive product. Just because I like to support small(er) businesses when possible.

Much as it pains me to say it, if I were limited to strictly EV for some reason - I would prefer the Mach E over any products Tesla offers at the moment.

Then LUCID comes along licensing their technology into other brands. Getting interesting.

I'll just throw this out here. Tesla's world wide sales are getting close to 50% of Ford's.

I don't really care or have a horse in this race so all you electricity haters please direct your angst elsewhere. I'm not Elon, just the messenger.

Don't worry, I am sure there an msn.com article to respond to this, just have to wait for certain forum member to spot your post.

I was very surprised too. I thought Ford's sales would have been much more than 4 million.

Battery powered cars...they make sense, they are economical (after you get past the initial purchase price), but they are souless. For a daily beater commuter I could handle it, but certainly not for a fun weekend car. It's like choosing between a ride on a steam locomotive vs. a subway car.

Tesla cooks the books. They call resold units, new sales.
Tesla's don't have a "model year" So every transaction is included.
But cool story bro.
