I've commented on this before. Availability of instant info has made people pushy, demanding and spoiled. The process was entirely hidden before, and now that Ford has offered a peek, people are getting even more demanding.

I think it's a microcosm of our society in general these days in which everyone demands instant gratification. With every generation, the sense of entitlement grows.

Patience, sadly, is a dying virtue...

I blame all the violent smilies :frusty::paddle::rant::threadjacked::headbonk: :rules: :readthethread::hitcomputer::repost::spam: :barf:

I think a lot has to do with threads (topics) reappearing, and the responses are much shorter and to the point the second time around...and people have feelings. I've been called a lot of things on here, to my face and behind my back but I enjoy the page for the most part, it does have great info and interest. I can't really help myself when some one says something dumb, and expect it back in return. It's getting testy because there is nothing new to talk about. It's just a downturn until cars are in our hands, then it will be new 'real' things to discuss.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems people on this forum are getting more aggressive. When I first joined this forum it was because it seemed to always have update information on the '15 stang, but more importantly, the people on here seemed to be happy to just chat and relay information and opinions. But as we get closer to the '15's arrival and more people join and get antsy, it seems we digress from the happy helpful nature the forum start off as and begin to attack others personally and condescend other people's preferences and opinions.

It's not everyone on this forum. In fact the majority are pretty tame and just want to discuss the car as this forum as intended. It's only a select few that will take a simple discussion and, the second someone's opinion differs from their own, will personally attack that person.

I understand that that's usually the give and take with forums when you post. You open yourself up to ridicule. I guess I'd come to believe this forum was better than that, and believed we could keep it civil. If you disagree with someone, fine. Say so and possibly explain why or don't comment.

In a nutshell I miss how the forum was when I first started following it. It saddens me to see what we're slowly becoming. I'll be glad when the mustangs get here and everyone is happy, post their cool pics. Post their mods and little tutorials so we can get back to helping others and stop calling each other stupid in various ways.
YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG AND AN IDIOT! EVERYONE HERE IS EXTREMELY NICE, ESPECIALLY ME! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO START WITH THIS INFLAMMATORY NONSENSE

Hopefully that was sarcastic enough.

I do think there are some people more on edge these days, but overall I'd still rate this forum as very mature and respectful overall. For a long time, only the most dedicated and interested parties were here, trying to find any possible info about the new Mustang, and because of that maybe everyone seemed to get along due to common interests. I've been visiting for quite some time, and was very impressed with the level of discourse. Being new to Mustangs I tried out some other Mustang sites, and was pretty disappointed in the overall tone.

I've also been interested in the C7 Vette, and some of those corvetteforums exhibit almost insane levels of insecurity. Don't even think of comparing a Vette to a 911 over there (or a C6 to a C7).

I still think people here are very open to alternate views, vehicles, and can discuss things without getting all bent out of shape. Well, most of us anyway. There's still people like that shouting jerk-ass who wrote the first part of this response. :headbonk:

And I do agree that some of those smileys seem to be designed to derail things. I mean, I get you don't like my color choice, but do you really need to puke all over it?

If you think it is bad now, wait until the full reviews come out and it is revealed that the GT PP is slower to 60, slower in the 1/4 and slower around Laguna Seca than the Boss. On one side will be the "They might as well just call it Pinto then, I'll never buy another Ford!" crowd and on the other the "Well, technically they said it would beat the Boss at some track but never told us which one, and, um, you know, with the line lock, um, in bracket racing, it could be more consistent and so what they said is totally true and anyone expecting anything else is just putting words in their mouth and should GTF off this site and go buy like a Honda or something." The threads will make the weight, mileage, option packaging, release date threads seem like kids playing in the park. It will be epic.

I have been visiting the bimmer forums the last month or so and man...talk about a superiority complex, WOW. Not everyone is that way but man, some of those folks are insane!! BMW hung the moon, everything else is a POS and you are a poor ass if you don't drive one, you are a second class citizen, etc.

I think one of the best parts of this forum is the either new to Mustangs completely or had a mustang in the past and drives something else now people.

They bring an interesting outside perspective to the discussion and provide some personal accounts of other cars.

While there is a dedicated "V8 GT best GT" group in most places, this forum is the most open and equal I've ever seen. Especially the threads on V6/Ecoboost...those would be flamed all day. Glad to see they are not however. I think I've met the truest Mustang enthusiasts on this site.

People are getting testy but id say a lot of it is passion , not just impatience.

I think I and a lot of other people are expecting this to be quite an amazing car...stress is natural , especially when you're just waiting for things to be confirmed and you wonder "what if its not true .."

This forum is still far above others and I'm glad to be a part of it !

Weird...I must have missed the threads that have gotten nasty. I keep noticing people offering respectful opinions and voicing their disagreements in a professional manner. Its a very cool community and I hope it stays that way...

I agree with the poster above about the BMW crew. If this place ever gets like those forums, Im out. I have no desire to deal with others insecurities, attitudes, complexes, etc...

I blame the democrats and the sense of entitlement they've brought forth in this country....LOL

Let's see what that get's started!!

Just kidding.

I'm not sure who said it, but the poster who said that there are different reasons people order different cars with different options should be applauded!! I would bet that some people here, if they could afford it, would just as soon drive a Ferrari or Lambo, but the Mustang remains an affordable/fun car. Some are enthusiasts and would drive a Mustang, no matter what. Those can be further sub-divided into the ones who can afford a GT500, those who can do a GT, those who can do an eco-boost, etc. Then there are those who care about the planet and buy an eco-boost to get performance and to make themselves feel better about driving something that burns fossil fuel. And then there are those who...................................... Get the picture?

It doesn't matter what one person picks over another. It only matters to that person. Your approval or disapproval is meaningless and should be weighted as such.

This is a Mustang site and should be treated as such. There is no such thing as a better or worse one, because without every single one, we and our cars wouldn't be the icons and cultures they are today. Appreciate them all for what they are and value each as such. If you think yours is better, great, because I'll guarantee you that for my own reasons, mine is better than yours!!

**Rant off**
**steps off soapbox**

There should be a “$h!t Talk” Subforum.. where you could bash, troll and hate on other peoples cars and ideas. That would be fun :)
