Open lapping on day 3 of a 3 day race school. The three of us got black flagged because we were making it a little too exciting for the instructors

Looks like a lot of fun! I wish I could find a road course and a spec Miati with an automatic transmission to race on a course like that.

Unlike my normal daily driving, where I can put my phone on top of the dash and there's never enough accelerative force in any direction to make it slide at all.

Thanks Guy's! I highly recommend it. Lime Rock is very technical so most drivers either hate it or love it. In this video you can see when I really screw up the entry into one, I screw myself through 2-3-4.

October in NW CT you are very well aware of the natural beauty even while you should be paying attention to your lines.

It wasn't all fun and games, I pushed a little too hard coming out of 2 and backed into the wall earlier in the morning. Completely my screw up, I thought I saved it but it snapped around on me and once I was pointed in the wrong direction at speed on wet grass I was just a passenger. That was a $1587 lesson. Wrinkled quarter, tail light, bumper cover. I was there to run at the limit not drive around. My Wife was pissed because I didn't have my GoPro on.

Crazy Bastard's even gave me a diploma :headbang:

Jim,

I highly recommend you attend the track day events with your Mustang. Lime Rock is only 2hrs. outside of the City. They have instructors and you just drive at a pace you are comfortable with. You have paddle shifters so it's not really any different than any of the other cars. You can even get insurance because it's considered driver education, not racing. You will learn more about the dynamics of your car and yourself in one day than you ever thought possible. You'll have so much fun you'll probably move out of the city ;)

This is the last one I'll bore you guy's with. I started it at the good part. If you listen carefully you can hear the instructor (the same one who was standing 10' from the wall I hit earlier in the day) tell me basically I'm getting close to crashing. Basically I'm not waiting for the car to turn, and getting on the power way too soon...so what do I do? :tsk:  About as close to crashing as it get's. That's a lot of steering in a short amount of time.

Thanks for sharing those!

I like how late that you brake. You carry quite a bit of speed into the corner.

The Guy in front of yours tail lights light up going into the corner and you're gaining on him. I drive the same way and sometimes it doesn't come out so well (as you found out)! :D

I agree with your wife though, I wish that you'd have had you GoPro on when you went on Mr. Toads Wild Ride (Crashed).

I'm glad that you didn't get hurt though!

Thanks again for the Ride Along! It was fun!
