That would be nice. I don't need nav.
Agreed. I honestly don't see how Nav companies are going to stay in business, considering a Google Maps app on a smart phone does it all (turn by turn with voice), for free... It would be handy to be able to "airplay" a smart phone to a car display though (I think it's only a matter of time).

The problem comes from driving your car to other countries, and that cell towers still aren't everywhere.

True enough. I just don't go out of country or off grid enough to make the $800 worth it over a passenger with a map :)

I will not buy a daily driving car without built in nav again, travel too many places, it is just too easy. Had a dash mount garmin, stolen three times even hidden. People must have seen it driving in. Pain in the ass to dig out and connect, hang on windshield dash and then wait for it to figure out where the f,?& it is, where as the ford unit works always

To each his own, no issue if you do not want, just do expect me to buy your used car :)

 A rough mental picture of the mapped route plus a little dead reckoning has nearly always been enough "nav" for me.

The occasional unplanned detours have been "plusses" in our lives far more often than not. I'll take that over having to listen to some virtual nag that can't tolerate my independent streak . . . every time.

nametoshowothers - I doubt you'd buy my used car anyway. So far, they've averaged 14 years in service and haven't always been in running condition when sold.

And since the Mustang will have SYNC standard now, which includes audio streaming via Bluetooth, all of the turn-by-turn directions will be played through the sound system.

I like having NAV, but I HATE, HATE, HATE turn by turn directions. For some reason the stupid voice just bugs the crap out of me. I greatly prefer a visual cue, rather than an audio one.

I therefore like to do a review of the general route, so I can get a picture of it in my head, and then turn off the turn-by-turn stuff.

I will also buy the in-car nav, even if I can use the one on my phone almost as easily (or sometimes more easily). I just like having that integrated one as well if just for the sake of completeness (mostly I think I like to "race" the NAV system's ETA, and see how much better I can do).

I am the same regarding audio/visual cues. I hate it when the nav says 'keep left' when it really means 'turn left'.

Yeah love my Nav in my Raptor but very rarely use the turn by turn. Mainly cuz I can't stand the Sync lady yelling at me all the time. Wish you could change the voice.
