Probably driving nannies for people that can't turn their heads or pay attention to the road.
Would there be three packages still? Techology, Comfort and Performance. Would have thought the mytouch is tech while the heated/cooled seats would be comfort.

And if it's like the current mustang you'll have to get the premium package on top of that. The current tech package is just a base car option that adds sync, power driver seat and auto dimming mirror.

We won't really know til we see how they're going to package the new car with all this new tech.. But it seems like the base model usually gets screwed as far as stand alone options :( . Ie you couldn't get glass roof or nav or heated seats or the LCD display with track apps or my color and so forth.

I suspect so, regulations and keeping up with competitors will lead to more nannies

Are we even sure there will be a tech/electronics package?

It seems to me the I4 could essentially be the tech package for the V6 with a different engine obviously.

The GT could come pretty well loaded standard with all the tech goodies and just offer the PP option.

The Tech and Electronics packages had nothing to do with the engine options. The Tech options adds some features into the base models that normally come standard in Premium packages, but without leather seats and other upgrades like MyColor instrument clusters. The Electronics package is the Navigation touch screen upgrade.

Ugh . . . let's hope not.

Offer the tech stuff as a stand-alone GT option package, sure, but leave room for the GT as the top performance trim to be available in a form that doesn't even try to be everything to everybody.

Yea I know it had nothing to do with the engine options. I should've been more clear. What I meant is they could decide to do away with the electronics package altogether. The V6 could just be the most basic interior with no large touchscreen and be mostly used for rental car companies and anyone wanting some of the tech options maybe forced to go with the I4 that comes standard with such things like MFT etc. Of course all of the new tech would also have to come standard on the GT if they were to get rid of that package. Things like the center gauges would come with the PP.... Just thinking out loud here.

Any guesses on what the tech package is going to cost?

Damn Loch Ness monster!

But seriously. Tech package is aboot $1200 dollars and adds sync, power driver seat and auto dimming mirror.
Electronics package is $2300 and adds the nav screen, although My guess is we'll see packaging change on that similar to what ford is doing on their my ford touch cars. Ie premium trim level gets the big mft screen and it's another 795 to add nav

That would be nice. I don't need nav.

I can see Ford offering the V6 with no tech or premium packages options and be a very minimal equipment V6 to remain the low price leader among the big 3. It works because the S550 has the best stock interior the Mustang has ever seen in terms of materials, upscaleness and craftsmanship. This forces the what, 50-60% or so? of would-be V6 buyers to consider the EB4 instead. Instead of checking the technology package for the 6, they'll spend the same amount and get the 4. Ford gets more return on their EB4 investment, pushes the Ecoboost brand more into the mainstream and ups their MPG average. That's a win.
