Ok, trying to keep this constructive...

There was mention of "rifling' on the interior of the tube. Is this throughout the length, just near the compressor, or just at bends? I'm having a hard time imagining it doing much more than increasing the boundary layer and reducing overall flow, but I swear I have read about something similar aiding flow transition to the wheel...

Anyone provide any potential insight?

Just found this thread.... after placing my order for the Livernois Windstorm and their tuner. Originally I was deciding between JLT/Airaid/Steeda and didn't know Livernois offered one. So I guess it will ship next week and we'll see what it's all about.

This is little too much of a copy of airaid but all the manufacturers do the same shit. Since MMR intake came out first with basically a wide long tube with k&n many other parts companies have copied some variation of the with changing very minimal items. If I owned a company and could do this with out violating any trademarks or copyright, then hell I would do the samething. Its just like samsung apple war. When 1 company does 1 thing perfect the other copies and vice versa

It isn't the same though, its a given that something like a CAI will all be very similar in design as there is only so much you can do engineering wise.

However to take an exact existing product and slap your logo on it and try to play it off as "new" "the best" etc is completely different. This is now up there with Roush and Shelby parts, all are parts made by different manufacturers with their logo slapped on it.

I lost a lot of respect for livernois today.

I hope it's different in this case, but good luck getting any more pics or info than what you already have.

We ran into a similar issue as this on a Fusion forum. Several guys had went big turbo and said the ATP kits were a direct bolt-on. Well, one member had Livernois install this kit, and then any time it was discussed about the ATP kits being a direct bolt-on, Livernois would say that it wasn't and would state that certain things had to be modified. They were asked time and time again just to tell us what the modifications were, but they would blatantly pass over those questions and ignore them. That doesn't instill confidence in anyone.

Here's the thing that's similar between these two cases, just tell people what you did different and provide some proof. Don't just tell us something and expect us to take your word for it while you only keep throwing out generic, canned responses. Livernois has done some good work with the EcoBoost platform, but this kind of stuff is going to catch up with Livernois and people aren't going to want to deal with them anymore.

It ain't easy having the quickest and fastest ecoboost mustang in the world. By a large margin.

There are differences in the two intakes. Other than the logos.

I'm not sure if they have their car back from ARH yet to put it on the Dyno. And the tracks are still closed in Michigan.

Maybe I can talk Rick into a road trip in the ecoboost car to nmra spring break shoutout.

.
I don't care about drag racing times, I care about the legitimacy of a product. They have already been caught in a lie about the filter, how should we trust their claim that they "engineered" changes? Especially when their marketing department half ass photoshops their logo on airaids pictures.

its also laughable for a tuning shop to say they "reengineered" a filter.
