Hey guys... 2nd posting... I just got done installing an MBRP Race exhaust on my 2016 non-PP EB Mustang. Sounds awesome... but after a test drive of about 40 miles or so, I went to verify my bolt torques and saw a bit of oil seeping out of the joints between the exhaust components. Not a huge amount, but it was brown, slick to the touch, and smelled like oil. It's a new ride, only 500 miles on it... not be grannying it, but not stressing it out either. (Trying to abide by the manual's break in instructions.)

Any thoughts or concerns about this from other members?

It's most likely water/soot. There would be a 007 smokescreen if it was oil.

I actually thought about soot and water - except it's brown not black - and the exhaust was installed only this afternoon, with only a few dozen miles put on it. (It seems it'd need more time than that to build enough enough soot to seep soot and water like that, right?) Good point about there being smoke if that were true - I guess I just don't know. Checked the oil, and it's full - real full actually, but a nice golden color as one would expect for new oil, not brown like what's seeping out of the exhaust.

The exhausts are coated with a layer of oil like stuff to prevent corrosion in storage.
Perhaps it is just that coating coming off as you are breaking in the exhaust?

Could very well be bend lube used during the manufacture of the parts. If they don't clean it all out, it could take a few days to burn off.

This is what I came here to say, lol. I'd bet that's just what it is.

Hey, cool, thanks guys!! I can live with that ;) A little surprising I guess - given that it's the stainless steel version and isn't likely to corrode, but that's ok - I buy it. This was my first exhaust install fwiw - so other than that weirdness it went really well!
