So, I pulled the car out of the garage this morning and went down my street. Threw the blinker on to turn and noticed it was doing the awkward blink on my gauge cluster signifying a bulb being out.
I pulled over and the middle bulb on the tail light wasnt illuminating. I checked the right side and the far right side wasnt illuminating either. Went to the gym and got back into the car afterwards and it was blinking as it should...
Anyone else experience this before?

Not on the Mustang, but when I had my ST I used to get headlight out warnings every so often. Would turn the car off and back on and it would be fine. Electronics man!

The taillights are all LED so they probably will last the life of the car. Definitely wouldn't expect any of them to burn out this early. Sounds like something else is going on.

I feel like I just read a thread the other day about someone saying their taillights weren't working at all (at night!). The brake lights and turn signals worked, but they weren't turning on at night otherwise.

Ford has a message for this concern.

SSM 45895 - 2015-2016 Mustang Built On Or Before 4/22/2016 - Rear Tail Lamp, Turn Lamp Or Stop Lamp Partial Outage - DTCs B1271, B1272, B1273, B1274, B1275 or B1276.
Some 2015 and 2016 Mustang vehicles built on or before 4/22/2016 may exhibit a partial outage of the rear tail, turn signal or stop lamps following a vehicle start with a low battery. This may be accompanied by any combination of DTCs B1271, B1272, B1273, B1274, B1275 and B1276. The condition typically clears on vehicle restart. Reprogram the BCMB module to the latest calibration using IDS release 101.01 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. Use applicable labor operations from Section 10 of the SLTS manual and use causal part 13C788

Bump this thread to the top. Having the same blinker issue but wasn't sure if the car would need to be tuned to stock for the reprogram.

Thank you for any help!

Ended up bringing the car in and caught in on video for the Ford warranty department. All they did was replace a module that controls the tail lamp. Haven't had the issue since

My car is actually at Ford right now for this and several other issues that I've described in detail in a different thread.

This is the second time I've taken it in for this, with a video(s) in hand but they kept saying "If we can't recreate the problem, there is nothing we can do."

Thankfully this time it happened while they've got the car, so fingers crossed they replace the Body Control Module (BCMB) that's the cause of the issue instead of just re-flashing it..

Glad to know that's what fixed yours!

Sorry to revive a old thread, but was it ever determined if a revert to stock tune was needed for the bcmb to be reprogrammed?

Turned mine off and restarted the car and it corrected itself, never happened again.
