The Service Dept’s can’t find that original SSM 45895 because it’s been supercded by SSM 47429 (which is the Official Ford SSM I have attached).

Too bad *some* of the Service Dept Techs can’t think OUTSIDE OF THE BOX... because the S550 taillight from 2015-2017 is the same; all they had to do was just go into their Ford site and select another Model Year and Vehicle Make without using a VIN and wa-la...... they would have found it.

Thanks for the info, I had this issue with my 2016 mustang EB with 63,567 miles for the last few months. My rear passenger side light is out but the brake light and turn signal work. This issue been driving me crazy! Its time for a trip to ford 🤪

Thanks everyone for responding!

The fix: it turns out it was just the turn signal housing; I was able to get a new one at a decent price on eBay. what I did to verify it was the housing. first, I cleared out any codes using Forscan. It didn’t fix it. second, I disconnect the right turn signal and hooked up the connector on the left side, to see if it still acted the same, it did. so, I know the housing most likely was bad. After researching it seems I got somewhat lucky, it could have been the BCM or the rear lighting module. Hope this helps someone in the future.

My passenger light has been giving me problems for years. Sometimes it works when you hit the brakes or use turn signal and sometimes it doesn't. I thought it was my tail light sequencer. So I took them off and now my passenger side works except the inner bar won't light up.

Can this BCM update be done with forscan?
I really really don't want to go to the dealer.
