Sync 3 announced.. No Joy for 2015 Models

Not being cynical, its just a fact of life. Your Born, You Live, and you eventually Die! In the mean time, why frustrate yourself with the fact that something bigger and better is constantly looming around the corner? Yesterday is History and (tomorrow) is but a Mystery, right?

I'm pretty sure the rest of us are grown up enough to make choices on our own without you raining your vitriol on the parade.

It would be nice if more manufacturers did like what Tesla is doing. All systems run the same core OS, and they just constantly update it. Instead of this constant rip and replace. In my last F-150 I think there was ONE sync update the whole time I owned it.

Would be nice (but) Ford won`t even make a Sirius Satellite upgradeable Module available for its Base Radio Audio Units despite the fact they (claim) that they are supposed to be able to do so. Technically they are correct, (but) you have to replace the "entire" Audio Head Unit.:ford:

Talked to Ford Customer Service today. Apparently - enabling navigation in my Non Nav Sync 3 means that I need a new APIM. It cannot be added after leaving the factory. (According to ford customer service.) This leaves me no choice except to use a aftermarket GPS until Carplay is fully released.

Oh my, tsk tsk....The same could be said for those that purchased an iPhone 6 to be replaced soon after by the newer updated iPhone 6S and soon to be updated and replaced shortly with the vastly superior iPhone 7 which will become obsolete by the iPhone 7S. Just keep waiting......classic effort in futility!:doh:

Remember, that in the world of electronics, whatever you buy will be obsolete by the time you get it! If you are not satisfied with Sync 2, wait a few months and it will be replaced by Sync 3...But then you won't be satisfied because Sync 4 will be out.

there is nothing really special about it. I played with it, it does the same exact stuff but yes it is faster, certianly no reason to pass up on a good deal on 15 for imo. tbh I like mft more simply for the wallpapers lol

But that's the key difference between MFT and SYNC3...SYNC3 can receive easy OTA updates. Theoretically it could look completely different in 2 years than it does now. Not to mention Android Auto support, which Google will constantly update. SYNC3 is fairly future-proof. That's why I waited for it.
