All the big blowers make great power, even at lower boost. I would be 700whp on a DynoJet easily at 11psi. This was my first Centri blower as I wanted to try the other side having only been PD Whipple blowers on my Cobras. The thing about 700whp peak on the street is, even without the instant peak torque of a PD blower, even Nitto 555Rs struggle with WOT hits with a Centri power curve unless the roads are 80 degrees when under 40mph. You really cant go wrong here.

FWIW i made 832rwhp on 93 with meth with a TT setup....

adjustable boost is nice too since 832rwhp is NOT usable on the street!
Yes it is....get better tires lol.

All kinds of threads on this topic. I went PC for the dedicated pulley, quieter helical gears, and no cold weather warning. But all that is splitting hairs because I paid more also. Both quality units utilizing the same basic centrifugal S/C design.
Paxton comes standard with helical gears.

The Paxton 2200 SL's Dont have as good of self lubricating system as procharger does, Once you pulley down to 3.48 and spin it to 7800rpm a few times the oil slinger breaks off the shaft internally and starves the gears... Has happened to countless people on this forum including me twice!
me too i ruined 2 head units on my ls3 camaro .i only got 2000 miles out of the first one then 1300 more and sold the car but it made big power on stock long block 943/730 15 psi 621/624 cam on 93 and meth

Like everyone else said the Paxton 2200SL seems to be the first to tap out. The 2200 not self lubricated unit seems to be pretty durable though. I also had no issues out of my VMP Gen 2 or Whipple Gen 3.

Its like anything else, if you beat it beyond its capable tolerances its gonna fail, a simple matter of physics. I had a Paxton torque booster in my last car my current car has a PC D1x. If you ask me to choose between the 2, Procharger wins hands down.. But it also costs more then the Paxton. So if budget is your concern go Paxton/Vortech , if not go Procharger!!!

All I know is...

Our failure rate (or lack thereof) is why our industrial division has done so well.
Right not with the "Arctic Vortex" taking over the country... ProChargers are all over the country from military to commercial keeping aircraft deiced. :)

We also have applications that run for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 10 years at a time. :)

With proper oil changes performed,
its very very very very very verrrrrrrrry rare to hear of an issue with one of our SC units.
We have customers that have racked up 250,000+ miles on units, and some even more. :)

Im happy we don't have to write many warranty repairs. :)
One less thing to do each day.

Anyways, thats all I got.

Any difference between the standard gear set and quiet helical gear set as far as longevity? I know the standard is fine with cold temperatures, but what about the quiet helical gears - are they ok for cold weather as well?

Thanks!!

All good on both. :) We took time to make sure this gear box was bullet proof. :)

Many years ago i bought a used Procharger off my best friend . It went bad when he had it . Wouldnt even spin. I sent it bacl to Procharger and had it fully rebuilt . Took a couple months to come back and the customer service sucked. I had it on my car for one oil change and it went bad again . Bearings must have went and the impeller hit the housing. I took it off and threw it in the trash .

Our turn around time on a repair would only be a matter of days.
And all repairs also carry a limited warranty on them.

I am sorry to hear of your issues, however I can assure you that is not normal.
If you ever run our product again, please reach out to me and Id love to make sure it goes smoothly.
