I hate the feel of suede on these gt350 steering wheels, prob not going to be very durable . should be able to get a new leather one from ford off of a premium car, think it will work?

You can get a normal S550 Mustang steering wheel if that's what you want. Should be cheap without the buttons and topper, just transfer that stuff over and you're good to go.

I like to disassemble things.
Kinda like kicking Sofia Vergara to the curb because Rosie O'Donnell is at the front door.

I guess it's a personal choice? Because I love the stock steering wheel.

That being said, if anyone with an "R" wants to swap out that horrid steering wheel, I'll buy you the S550 wheel NIB for a trade. :)

I installed the R wheel in my GTPP and like it very much. My perception is the R wheel is thinner than the GT wheel....but since I didn't keep the stock wheel, I can't do a side by side comparison....likely just the different in feel between the stock leather and Alcantara (I don't think the R wheel is actual suede).

I'd be happy to buy your old one.

So this guy wants to swap out his GT350 steering wheel for a leather one and on another thread some guy wants to swap out his IR suspension for a solid axle.

I think I'm in the twilight zone and landed in stupid....:frusty:

I'm outta here on the first thread that asks how to convert the manual tranny into an automatic.

It is not suede. 2nd, Alcantara which is what it is is a brand name is the material the wheel is wrapped in. The material is essentially micro fiber and very durable much more so than leather. In fact, once the material gets dirty warm soap and water will easily clean it and restore to almost new. Try that with leather!

Guys how do I get an automatic transmission in my GT350? Ha. Kidding.

On topic, I love the Alcantara (spelling) steering wheel. I had one in my Boss 302 as well and so with that be warned, it will turn brittle over time, and make your hands look like you've been playing in oreos all day. I'll search on my own but I need to find a way to properly clean the wheel and get it back to it's nice soft form whenever I get to that point in the 350.

And if it's a track pack transmission, I know of about 20 folks around here who would be happy to buy that too.

Oh I know, I've been watching from the sidelines and have read that thread for quite sometime now. Lemers is hilarious. Lol. But yes, I am in that boat as well except for the fact that I haven't gotten mine into limp mode and nor have I tracked mine... yet. So I'm waiting to see what comes down the pipeline. But we have enough of those threads going around, back to the steering wheel!
