You need the cowl extension to go with those parts as well. 100$ is half price so would be a good deal.

What is this "cowl extension" you speak of?
(I'm interested in procurement of a shock tower brace at some point, and it would be a bummer not to get all the parts...)
In HuskyDad's picture, I take it the cowl extension is not the "boomerang" looking part in the pic?

No, the "K" brace is the boomerang piece in your pic above and there is also a smaller/lighter metal piece that bolts on under the engine cradle/undertray as well.

The cowl extension ties the rear of the firewall at the base of the windshield into the front of the wiper well where the K brace bolts under the wiper well cover. here is the part number 2015-2024 Ford Mustang Extension Panel FR3Z-63016A52-A | TascaParts.com

This thread had all the parts number lists and tons of info on how to install the parts, page 1 has the parts list for all except the strut tower and upper K brace you already have page 10 shows the rest of the parts needed. Your car may already have the lower K brace so you may not need it.

That extension panel is needed, don't think it is not. I made the mistake of not installing it and ended up having to remove everything and installing it later. Not fun doing the same job twice.

Echoing BD and others, make sure you order the cowl extension piece. Not sure why Ford Performance never bothered to include it in the brace kit. $100 for the FP brace kit is a good price as others have already noted

Thanks BD! I didn't realize there were all these extra parts to complete the project. I've always assumed (looking at what parts houses offer) that the main bar between the shock towers was it. Now I'm wondering if they're just selling us a cosmetic package (I'm sure the shock tower brace does some good, but....)

Again, thanks for the additional information, and the link to the "parts needed" thread.

My car came with the lower K brace on the subframe, but I added the strut tower and upper K brace but did not know about the cowl extension until I found it in a thread here.

After adding the strut tower and upper K brace my car felt much more planted in corners but even more so after installing the cowl extension since it ties the strut tower and upper K brace into the chassis even more for much better rigidity. IMO it all works together to improve handling and road feedback.

In the past I've been looking at something like this for the engine cradle area:
https://www.steeda.com/steeda-555-5536-mustang-extreme-g-trac-k-member-brace
SO, would you need this aftermarket brace if you already had the factory lower small K brace? Is there any benefit to running both the lower factory and aftermarket K braces?
(This assumes you can install both.)
Install one OR the other?
I'm just not sure where the point of overkill happens here, and that's why I'm asking those if you (BD) who seem to have experience in this area...

The Steeda brace is supposed to be in addition too the factory lower K brace.

Does the steeda brace do anything? I don't know.

If you're trying to sell parts, post in the appropriate Marketplace subforum and follow the rules there for everyone's online safety.

I can't speak from experience on the Steeds lower brace you linked to since I don't have it on my car, plus the one you linked to, will not fit all mustangs and, in my case, my ecoboost with the auto trans. They make a 2 point brace that fits all mustangs, but I don't really see that it would be of much benefit IMO.

If I was going to install an additional lower brace, I would go with the BMR brace since it ties the lower control arms into the subframe with its mounting points.

Older thread but the Steeda lower K Frame brace in that link is for the manual transmission only, it will not fit on the 10 speed automatic just for information, Steeda sells a two point K Frame brace that fits the 10 speed automatic, I have the two point Steeda K Frame brace on my 2021 Mustang. Anything you can to to stiffen the front end is going to benefit the handling.

My 2.3 High Performance package comes with the GT suspension already but I installed two point K Frame brace and I took off the Ford strut tower brace and replaced it with the Steeda Strut tower brace, it looks better and you save a pound of weight as well. Because mine came with the strut tower brace it already has the strut to firewall brace.

My 2.3 High Performance Package handles like a go cart the steering is so quick and precise.
