Strong burning smell

Most things have a 'residue', 'coating', etc. on them when stuff is assembled. Since you're only smelling it after hard pulls, that suggests to me that something is burning off the inside, or the outside of your exhaust system. I'm betting it subsides soon, but if not, take it in.

Maybe he was driving on CF Hawn between downtown and Seagoville ? It may not be his car he's smelling.

When new, the torsen diff gives off an odor till broken in. I babied mine per manual and even now at 20k miles when I REALLY get on it, I can get some smells of clutch/diff/tires in the car.

That should be considered.
Hopefully not, because that's one of the best places I can think of to ruin your suspension, or get hit & run.

I know mine smells weird when I run it hard which seems to be from the Cats. It almost reminds me of the smell of a ricer without cats sometimes. Its kind of a sulphur smell to me.
