never said I was going to put together a performance pack... I said add what I want and save money on the things I don't need.

Here's the problem IMO. The PP is cookie cutter. So for someone like me to get what I want (brakes radiator rear end) I have to get somethings I don't want (wheels, springs, swaybars).

So sell off the things that you don't want (because someone on the forum wants them at a discount). Put that and additional money towards the 20" Vossen Wheels, and the Eibach springs /sway bars that I do want.

i guess you didn't read my posts after where I have to defend my post because some people are taking my choice to heart. ... At the dealer they had full loaded GT's for about 45k I left out the the door about 35k .... thats a 10k difference.... So there is my point.. don't car what package cost what... thats the difference that matters to me

No I read them. I'm saying from my vantage point. It is worth it to me. You said in one of your posts that you aren't building a PP. You are going to do what you want.

Again when I read the post I immediately thought hey to me its worth it let me say why.

That is YOUR car. You make the payments on it. You spec it how you want. If it is avoidable there is no reason to pay for stuff you don't want. Nav is a perfect example. I have a cell phone and blue tooth. Why would I ever need nav? But there are some who will shell out for it. Leather... for me a deal breaker. I don't want a car with cloth seats. For others it is unneeded.

The thing that caught me was when you said the PP was over priced. When you put it all together it is a great deal for the tings I would want.

I was responding to this statement:

"anything that the dealer charges you for on the PP mustangs you can basically do yourself for cheaper.."

To me this reads like you are saying you could piece together (whether you actually do or not) a PP for less on your own. Which is not true.

Not sure what's hard to understand. I don't need 430hp. I make a living with my drivers license. I drive an eighteen wheeler. A ticket in my mustang could keep me from getting a better job or even with enough tickets lose my current job. My ecoboost premium was 35k msrp. So should I spend that on a base gt with a motor I don't need and pay extra for fuel and insurance for the v8. Or should I have spent that on actual things I'm going to use like the cooled leather in the summer, the shaker sound, the big mft screen?
I hope you got your EB for well below that? I'm getting my GT 400A premium for around 36,500 and out the door for $38,200.

Regarding your HP thing, yah, no one really needs that HP and the EB is just great for around town, DD. I was torn between it and athe GT but in the end, being my first Mustang, had to go with the GT and after figuring Premium vs Regular gas costs in the EB vs the GT, the MPG came much closer.

Both are awesome cars. There is no wrong choice. :)

Definitely try and test drive a GT w/PP. I spent a really solid hour driving a non-PP GT back2back with a GT w/PP and the difference was night and day. GT PP was much quicker and much more pinned down to the road. I haven't test driven an ecoboost but I'll definitely be buying a GT so don't need to.
Did you test a non PP GT with 3.55s in sport mode? It's fast and effortless. That's the thing, the toggles for the premium and the modes are enough for me to get the premium. After driving in D mode and then going to Sport+, the shifting was so different..it was like driving 2 different cars. A grand tourer in drive mode and a sports car in S+ mode.

The thing most of the dealers have told me that have driven both is stance/springs. After you get some aftermarket springs, the feeling changes big time...no more roll/spring action.

So that's an unfair comparison because you can't pick and choose things from the PP, you either get it or you don't.

If you could pick and choose I could maybe understand but I would bet that even then it would be tough to compete with the prices when you factor in labour/time.

Base GT with PP here...because that's what I wanted. Those that don't have certain options feel the need to justify why they "poverty" spec'd the car....just like those with loaded premiums have to chime in about how they need those 4k in features. Then the whole motor argument hahaha who gives a shit....get what you enjoy and can afford..and drive it.

It's the general comments around "your all idiots for buying the PP and here's why" that really bother me.

Likely referring to brakes,gears,rearend,radiator..etc...just a guess:crazy:
if i needed or wanted that i would have got the PP.... I care more about my suspension.. the 20in forged wheels that I'm getting.. and my exhaust. don't understand the problem here... you got what you wanted and I got what I wanted... I make more than enough money to buy a fully loaded GT ... it's not what I needed... other things are more important to me like trying to buy a house instead.. I got base to do the small things I like to do and thats all. everyone's situation is different and people have different wants and needs.

Easy there fella...if you read any of my post you would see I could give a shit how you equipped your car..I agree with you different strokes for different folks. I was replying in line to a labor comment and things you'd probably not want to do in your driveway.. I also don't care if you could afford a Bugatti what does that have to do with anything ? You proved my point to the T...haha p.s. I don't have a premium either.
