This is the way I ordered my car, base GT with PP and recaros, who needs anything else??????
I didn't even need the recardos, my truck has XM for a year but besides the nascar station the rest play too many B tracks to pay for long term.

Granted my truck radio sounds 10 times better and it's just a express ram with a 5.7.

Soon to fix with exhaust and no cares for radio over the motor on the GT

I care about infotainment
I just test drove again. This time 2 cars. Was looking for a GT performance package GT with recaro but wasn't available. so basically I drove:
1) a manual gt premium (with a tall rear end)
2) a manual ecoboost premium with performance package and recaro (shorter rear end).

Call me crazy but the the torque from the 2.3l is quite "practical" on the streets. Call it a blasphemy, but I didn't feel that this particular gt much faster than this particular ecoboost. Honestly, somewhat disappointed with the GT as it didn't have that "punch" like the S197 Boss 302, but maybe blame it to the tall rear end. The ecoboost with a lighter front end felt more balanced.

All the test drives were in Sport + mode. I really need to think what I really want. There is no wrong choice here, just a matter of one's preference.

Just my 2 pennies worth of honest opinion.
Definitely try and test drive a GT w/PP. I spent a really solid hour driving a non-PP GT back2back with a GT w/PP and the difference was night and day. GT PP was much quicker and much more pinned down to the road. I haven't test driven an ecoboost but I'll definitely be buying a GT so don't need to.

Oh, I do. When I want to hear something from my playlists, my music is all I want to hear.
I plan on upgrading the sub ASAP, for starters. ;):D

Yeah the initial punch of the ecoboost is like you said practical. It runs out of steam in the high rpm where the gt would keep pulling. But on the street you can't keep the throttle pinned till you hit 140 so yes for that short burst to get around granny on the road the ecoboost is more than adequate. It is real usable torque that hits right where you need it most as a daily driver. I think that gets lost on people when they just read the 1/4 mile times and make judgements from that. Good on you for picking that up just from the test drives.

I went with the GT base because it represents one of the best if not the best performance values in the automotive world. It's improved in every way from previous years. It lacks for nothing that is of any real importance to me and has all the right stuff that is. And its friggen beautiful

anything that the dealer charges you for on the PP mustangs you can basically do yourself for cheaper.. 3.73 gears .. faster jump slower top speed.. not to mention any thing when it comes to suspension, well there are so many things aftermarket that I can do instead of raising my monthly payments. I have seen so many people get the upgraded black 19's then go out and put other wheels on... waste of money !
base GT --- i pay under 400 hundred a month.. I have plenty of money to upgrade my car how I like

I think some of your accounting might be false -- if you do the upgrades yourself, consider that you'll be paying for both the parts you have in the car already, and the ones you'll be replacing them with. The performance pack rear isn't just a gear swap - you get the TORSEN diff as well -- from Ford, the MSRP on that is something like $1100. The Brembo brakes with the PP -- that's another ton of money -- 4-5k. Then consider that you also get the larger radiator (4-500), K bracing, etc -- I'm probably still leaving things out. X-plan for the PP is under $2300 -- probably the best value around -- for something set up for street/road work. If drag racing is your aim, I'd skip it and get a GT auto with 3.55's and be done with it...

Here in Canada it was a $3500 upgrade for the PP. I seriously doubt I could have done everything included in the package for less money, let alone time to actually do it.

Just bigger brake rotors alone from CJ's would cost me $1200 Canadian after the exchange rate.

The PP is a bargain in my opinion.

ya you get a good price for the package.... but i guess it depends ... I wasn't planning on going out and hitting a track... so for me why spend the extra money when I can change a few things I want. I could afford a fully loaded GT I chose not to.

False. Even if you leave the wheels out of it, you are not going to be able to separately piece together a performance pack for cost of the package itself. And that is parts only, forget any labor that may be required.

never said I was going to put together a performance pack... I said add what I want and save money on the things I don't need.

i've learned in this thread that people are crazy and to just accept people have different "perceived value"

i do enjoy reading about the justification behind peoples decisions and like to learn from them.

Thing is someone like me isn't mechanically inclined. Don't have the needed tools or access to lifts etc. So installing gearing, brakes (Reason #1 for the PP for me) larger radiator (I will be in Texas and Oklahoma with the car) make it worth it. The Brembo brake package from FRPP by itself is 1900 gearing is 815. Add in labor putting it in and you are waaay over the 2255 the package costs on the X plan. So If I can get the brakes gearing and radiator not have to pay to install them, Its a win to me. Throw in wheels/tires/springs swaybars I can sell to offset the some of the cost of upgrading to I want easy decision.

i guess you didn't read my posts after where I have to defend my post because some people are taking my choice to heart. ... At the dealer they had full loaded GT's for about 45k I left out the the door about 35k .... thats a 10k difference.... So there is my point.. don't car what package cost what... thats the difference that matters to me

Not sure what's hard to understand. I don't need 430hp. I make a living with my drivers license. I drive an eighteen wheeler. A ticket in my mustang could keep me from getting a better job or even with enough tickets lose my current job. My ecoboost premium was 35k msrp. So should I spend that on a base gt with a motor I don't need and pay extra for fuel and insurance for the v8. Or should I have spent that on actual things I'm going to use like the cooled leather in the summer, the shaker sound, the big mft screen?
