... just kidding about the poverty specs of course ;)

I m wondering who had decided to go minimalist.

I have other cars so this will just be a toy.

I am thinking of a base manual GT with GT performance package, recaro seat, and maybe just adding the reverse sensing system, depending how bad is the rear view. I drove the 2.3 a couple months back as the owner had not let people drive the GT. So, I am going to test drive again, now a GT with that minimalist specs.

I am wondering who also went in my direction and if they wish they had gone with Premium and/or more equipments. Thanks in advance.

I'm a long ways off from buying a new mustang, but when I do, I'll probably do the same. I think performance package and recaros would be all I need.

If you're coming from a full equipped Lexus, yeah, 300A will probably be a downgrade. But If you coming from a '89 civic, I'd say it has more than you need for "Poverty specs". I ordered 300A just because I didn't need all that fancy mumbo jumbo, nor felt the need to pay 1000's of dollars for it.

Base GT, in the grand scheme of things, is one heck of a car.

+1. I love my loaded GT Premium, but my favorite parts are not the fancy options. It's the motor, steering & chassis, which are the same all the way down to the stripped models.

Not sure performance package, Recaro seats and reverse sensing even qualifies as minimalist
Agree with that thought!

A V6 base vehicle qualifies as the ultimate minimalist Mustang...

On a GT...drop the PP Package & Recaro seating and I might agree to the minimalist theory...

I have a base GT, PP, and Recaros. Glad I got that. I didn't want leather, the only option I wanted from premium was the big screen, mainly because it just looks better. Still, not worth $4,000.

Leather is a bit more slippery so I didn't want it for auto-xing/tracking. I'd probably have gone with less if I could have.

The base model still has track apps correct?
Yep. And an "on/off" traction control. None of that multi-tier "touch your toe, hold switch for 5 seconds, pop the trunk and slam it" garbage.
