Can you explain how that is just shy of 10% ROI?

Actual total ROI is 52,208% give or take but with an annual ROI of just shy of 10%. I hope that clears things up. In home purchases this is quite amazing, but in the investment world it is below par. However, most people would be happy making 3 to 5% on their money. Myself on the other hand am not happy unless I am making over 10% on my money and neither should anyone. If your portfolio is making less than 10%; either get a financial adviser or find another one.

We were making much less than 10% for years. I didn't know any better.

My 2015 is bone stock. I’ve looked at all the mods you can do to these Mustangs. I’m going to keep mine stock. And my reasons are:

435hp is all I need. 700 would be cool but for what?

When I see the old classic Mustangs for sale on Mecum’s and Barrett Jackson, the ones that are bone stock from the factory go for more $$.
Why are you telling us this? Feeling insecure or needing online attention.. Seriously, just enjoy your car.. If you mod it great, if you do not then so what..

I can help you with much better investments than a S550 Mustang.

My grandmother bought her home in 1953 for 13k in Corona Del Mar California. It was recently appraised at 6.8 million. However her annualized ROI as of today is only 9.94% in 66 years give or take. So not even 10%. Not only is that a terrible investment, but houses are not investments if you are living in them. 13k to 6.8mil sounds amazing, but in the scheme of things there are many, many investments that would have paid much better dividends. Even a basic stock such as Coke has gone up 900% just since 1990!!!!

Drive your car, put suspension, blowers, whatever on and have fun with it!
That’s ok. I invested in Bitcoin back in 2011. Cashed out last year. I live on a Yacht. Life is good. :)

Oh, and I love my Mustang. They have come a long way. I’m proud of Ford. 310hp out of a 4 banger! 435hp from a stock GT! The old 60’s Shelbys didn’t make that kind of power.

We all here have excellent taste. Because we have these new horses...

Sure. Then you shouldn't be worrying about your car as an investment then right? Good luck and have fun!

I don’t worry about anything. And I never said I bought the car as an investment. I bought it to drive and enjoy.

And thanks for the well wishes. I don’t believe in luck but I do enjoy everyday I get!!

I do not know this word "stock" that you use.

Is it worth less now, after all the time, money, and effort I put into it? Probably. Do I care? Nope. It's more fun, better looking, and it suits me. So it's worth a lot more to me, even if the rest of the world disagrees.

As a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon owner as well, I can tell you the fever to mod that Tonka Toy is great. However, my observation is that in most cases the OEM spec vehicle tends to drive better on the street than the result of a performance mod, or even appearance mods. Now if actively dragging or tracking, (or in the case of a Jeep, off-roading), maybe there is a place for a mod, but one better be actively doing those hobbies than aspirationally dreaming about them. Modding is a rabbit hole I've dabbled with. I guess everyone has to evolve their thoughts in their own way.

I did not. Bought it as an early retirement present to myself. I’ve been working since 1974 on the books. This Ford is by far the nicest car I’ve ever owned. And I’ve owned a lot of Fords.

But, no one thinks about the future. Who is to say what our Mustangs will be worth 50 years from now!

The 65 289 Fastback I mentioned comes to mind. A car that sold new for $1800 fetched over $35000 40 some odd years later...
Our Mustangs won't even be around 50 years from now. It's all electronics and plastic. These will NEVER be classics, at least not in the sense you're used to.

If you live on a yacht then why did you not buy a GT350 or wait for a GT500? Something isn't adding up here. For someone looking at long term value, you got the wrong trim.

I couldn't imagine driving my car on a stock tune again. It's way too conservative. At least the 2018+ have a more solid stock tune and power band.

Maybe not. My Dad saw a Mustang like he had once go across the auction on TV. 1965 298 Fastback. He paid less than 2k for his new. I believe the one on the TV auction sold for around 35k. And it was stock.

I modded my old 96 Cobra. It was fun to drive, but when I sold it the reality set in.

You will never get your money back on the mods. As a matter of fact, when looking for an older Mustang, you stay away from the ones that have been modified..
Little trick you might want to try. Keep your stock parts when you mod. When you sell the car. Put the stock parts back on. Sell the car as stock. The sell the mods. Cars are an incredibly bad investment. If your looking for a return. Yachts aint shit. I own my own island. And can afford mods. I dont worry about losing money on mods. Because my island cost more than your yacht. So thats that.

What cost $2000 in 1965 would cost $16107.03 in 2018..
