Stock Torque Converter Failure here! Updated

Earlier this month at the drag strip my stock converter failed inside in 2nd gear during a roll racing event ( Street Car Takeover ATL), This thread was initially a what did I break thread before I tore everything down and diagnosed the issue. Ive been told by some big 6R80 people that the stocker is at its limits at 650-750whp and we have recently seen several other stock converters fail near the same power which some are inside this thread in the comments!

I've seen a 6R80 break it's pump gears (much like a stock oil pump gear would break) in a Ecoboost Mustang this year.

Funny thing is, it broke from a roll race at the top of 2nd gear.

This is my firsy auto in awhile,these autos shift really hard,at the track my car shifted so hard into 3rd it would chirp the slicks at the track.

On your roll race did you start off in 2 gear or let the trans kick down from a higher gear ? If so you took out the intermediate shaft... if you used the paddles and were in second gear it most likely took out the front pump ( easy fix )

Started from 1st 30mph spun hard paddled second spun had to lift got back in it and it hooked up and it ran hard till the top of 2nd about 7600 loud pop and that was all she wrote
