Looks like people who know a lot about these eb engines have agreed that to get more than what we have already seen is gonna take going into the motor and spending some nice coin. It's not fair to expect this little engine pushing around a 3500 lb car to be compared to a GT, the motor is simply too small to get this car into the 12 without doing drag radials, weight reduction, and pushing the little engine to the breaking point. I wanted to get to the low- 12s without sacrificing the durability of my car, that's why I got the GT. This car looks to be good for mid 13s on street tires, dp and safe tune. That is still plenty fast but you are not gonna be on the streets embarrassing gt owners.
If ford had used the 2.7 or 3.5 I would have bought that model, those engines have enough upside to safely get into the 12's (the 3.5 maybe 11's) without wringing the life out of em. Hopefully ford offers a 2.7 or 3.5 down the road.
