What I was most dismayed by was the ease of how I was able to remove the "lock" nut. I tapped a 22mm deep well socket onto the lock nut, then attached the 1/2" torque bar and with a hefty turn, loosened the nut.

Smh. Those things are no more "anti-theft" than a regular nut. Took all of 3 minutes.

All the locking nut does is make it more of a PITA for you to take the nut on and off. It really won't stop a determined thief.

Did I read somewhere that the 350R studs require longer lug nuts? What would be the correct Gorilla set for a 350R?

Thanks

R uses same lugs as 350... and same lock nuts, for that matter.

The lugs were one of the first things I replaced. I'll never understand why manufacturers use chrome lug nuts on black wheels:crazy:

Does anyone have a p/n and source for the Gorilla lug nut?

Just saw this... no and no.

Was at a track event, Bmw needed rear brakes, owner was not very mechanically inclined so we were helping with the swap.
Took a 3 foot bar to break the lugs loose. Owner showed us his torque wrench, still set to whatever the BMW spec is, I believe 105 ft lbs,

Made in China torque wrench. Thankfully the nuts and studs seemed I damaged.

No offense meant, the other forum I frequent uses that term as a generic for anything Chinese made,

No offense taken... I can certainly respect your questions as cheap tools can sometimes lead to unwanted consequences.
