The prototype is currently in production. Hope to get it by the end of this week! As long as everything checks out it could be available within the next 2 weeks or so!

I just want to give a big thanks to Zackmd1 and AggieStang for the thought, drive and work they have done on this. I stumbled across this as another member here had me add NAV to their stock MFT Mustang. I read through this topic and thought Zack and Aggie were nuts for trying to add MFT to a non MFT vehicle. I know many many people have wanted to do this.

You have to tackle the wiring, adding hardware such as the sd reader, custom fabrication of the bezel...oh gotta ask Aggie something about the bezel at the end of this...and reprogramming the APIM to even properly communicate with the rest of the vehicle. Then there was the unknown if other modules would need reprogramming to support the upgrade to MFT.

After seeing the drive and determination these two had I figured WTH, count me in (even though I don't own a Mustang) and I'll help if need be. Zack and I communicated back and forth a lot. I helped with wiring diagrams (verified stuff he already new and gave him so new info) and then went to work on the custom programming of the APIM.

I honestly figured we would be shipping the APIM back and forth a few times to get things nailed down if that was even going to be possible.

I really feel that we have crossed that bridge with one trip. Have to make a programming change to the ACM yet but I truly believe that will fix the one issue that appears to be left. Hopefully I am not jumping the gun here.

Zack is awesome with the bezel research and design and if/when this all gets wrapped up and looking good, give Zack a huge hand. Its one thing to have it working but another to have it looking good.

Now on to the question for Aggie....that bezel you are using. Do the HVAC controls work properly and do the dual zone climate controls work or are they just dummy controls since the car was built as single zone?

If is wasn't for your expertise in programming this project would not have made it this far this fast!

Let us hope that the small issue is what we think it is. If so we will have a fully functional MFT swap!

Thanks for the props! I may be picking your brain here soon when i dive into my programming.

The controls do most of the functions correctly. The auto temp may work with a little programming. The only issue i have found is the blend door (upper to floor vents) controls are wonky and i have no way of making it hot or cold... its just always cold. Which is fine for now because im in texas! I have a feeling once i get the apim speaking mustang language, i will be home free.

If i cant eloquently hack the apim, im using the door ford provided with the myford sdk they released a while back for programming apps. No one said there couldnt be an app that taps the can bus and sends the signals i want to send!!!

This is what I was afraid of using the EATC (auto dual zone) panel versus the EMTC (manual single zone) bezels. If the Mustang is like most other vehicles the hardware for the two systems is different. For EATC controls via the APIM, the APIM sends signals to the FCIM (bezel) for temp changes. So if you can't control it correctly with the FCIM, doesn't matter what changes you make to the APIM, it won't change how it is functioning.

Your temporary solution appears to be flat across. I thought that there was not room in front of the circuit board to install the screen like this? Doesn't the bezel you designed stick out some and is not flat like your temp install?

I originally thought there wasn't enough room yes. Upon further inspection though this turned out to be false. My bezel does stick out about 1/4" but this is more for astetic reasons then functionality. I wanted to give the bezel some dimension that otherwise could not be done.

It is a surprisingly small active area compared to its overall size! But yes the entire active area of the screen is visible!
