Steering Wheel mod/replacement

So I am 6'8" driving a 2015 mustang. The experience is fine for the most part, I'm used to never fitting in anything like normal, but if the steering wheel were just an inch and a half closer, I'd have more knee room, and be able to get a better hold of the wheel.

After researching a bit, and being unable to find anything definitive to help, I'm looking to see if anyone else has the same issue as me, or has any experience with different wheels and could tell me if there's any difference in the distance the wheel reaches, preferably an inch or two closer to the driver.

6'4 here and do not have trouble with room. Is your wheel telescopic? Makes a huge difference for me.

Yeah its telescopic, i have it fully extended. My right leg has about a half inch of space away from the wheel. Like I said, even being 6'8" it's not that bad, but if I could get another 1-2 inches, it would be perfect

A flat bottom wheel might help a bit too. Unfortunately they do not design cars for us tall people, and even more-so if you are 6'8 lol

Yeah, pretty rough sometimes, especially for cars lol. Flat bottom wheel might help, ill look into that

See if OMP or NRG who make wheels have adapters or spacers.

So I have looked a little bit into some spacers, I'm pretty sure they make some, but they are for racing wheels typically. I could end up switching to one if it would be more comfortable, I would just hate to lose the steering wheel controls

I'm 6'4" and have a flat bottom Carbon Wheel and it didn't really change much for clearance.
Doesn't help your situation but just letting you know.
That extra 4" must make seeing thru the mirror a real pain. Thats my worst issue.

So far the best thing I've found is a company in Europe called spacer shop. They have a kit that will push the stock wheel setup out about 2 inches further. My concerns are that their kit is for the s197 stangs, and even though from what I can tell the steering timing clock thing (I can't remember what it's called) looks identical to s550's, it's obviously a decent risk considering the unit is about $250, plus whatever overseas shipping costs.

Hope you find something. I'm 5' 10" and I'd love to have the steering wheel closer. Or pedals farther away.
