I’ve recently bought a 2019 Mustang GT premium, manual transmission, absolutely love the car! Originally the car ca, with the 19” wheels and tires and the po removed them for the optional 20” wheels and tires. Ive noticed darting at highway speeds and kind of wandering at lower speeds. I had a 2015 Corvette with Z51 option, and that car would track a bit, following the crowns in the road at times but nothing like this.
The car has only 8,000 miles on it and the newer tires and wheels about 4,000 miles.
So I had the car aligned, but it still does it. A little Improvement but still not right. A friend said the factory settings might have to be adjusted and more “toe in” would fix it. Any help? Ideas?

I would not add more toe, these cars eat front tires and more toe is only gonna make that worse.
Let’s start by seeing the paper the alignment shop gave you, that will help us debug

I would not add more toe, these cars eat front tires and more toe is only gonna make that worse.
Let’s start by seeing the paper the alignment shop gave you, that will help us debug

I wouldn't adjust the toe-in. The wide tires are the primary cause of your tramlining. If you install the 2 point Steeda G-Trac brace -- or equivalent -- it will make it less severe. It won't eliminate it completely, but will help. The install is easy enough.

I would be fine asking for very slight toe in (like 0.05" per side in the front). It will help the dartiness. Ideally you don't need to do that (0 toe should be ok), but its a sports car, and if you think its too darty, without micromananging your tire choice, some slight toe in is fine.

You could use a little more toe in in the rear (0.1 per side)

And your rear camber is too much on that right side. Get it down <2.0.

.05 toe in in front both sides equal for a total of .1

Rear .1 on both sides for a total of .2

Rear camber <2 equal on both sides. Yes it is adjustable.

I had the dreaded tram lining with a stock GT and crap tastic Pirelli P Zero Nero AS 19 inch tires. The alignment did nothing. Michelin Pilot Sport AS4s completely eliminated the tram lining along with the awful groaning noise.

I may agree on it being tires if the alignment is OK and verified by a reputable shop. I drove a 20 GT PP2 700 miles yesterday and with the PS4S . massive 305s all around and it didn t tram line once all day.

I picked up a 2019 GT350R last fall and when running the stock Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2's the tramlining was very noticeable (even annoying at times) on the street. Switched to Michelin Pilot Sport 4s', kept the exact same size as the Cup2's, and the tramlining is completely gone. Unbelievable the difference it made on the street!

I ultimately decided to get a set of Project 6GR wheels, same size and offset as the OEM carbon wheels, and use them for the street with the 4s' and use the carbon wheels with Cup2's for autocross.
