So I have a GT (RHD) - got in the car this morning pressed the start button - Nothing! Got an error saying 'Steering assist Malfunction' Tried again a few times nothing. Went inside to lookup error - little while later came out again pressed the start button - it starts no warning errors or anything.

Any ideas anyone?

Btw this car only has 500 miles on the clock..

I had the same thing. Dealer replaced power steering fuse. The next day it blew again. It's at the dealer now to try and find out why the fuse keeps blowing out.

There's only 2 things that can cause that.

An intermittent short to ground in the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) power circuit, or a faulty PSCM. If they inspect the circuit and no issues are found, it will need a replacement EPAS gear.

Turns out the issue was the people who fitted my dashcam bent a fuse in the fusebox to get the bridge to fit....

My issue was frayed wire shorting out on the oil filter housing.
