Steeda Premature Bearing Failure

New to me 2017 GT with Steeda springs and shocks. I had a really bad rattle in the rear passenger side, sounded like it was coming from inside. After quite a bit of troubleshooting I come to find it's the bearing in the upper shock mount.

Anybody else have issues with these upper mounts? I've not had a super ideal experience with Steeda's customer support either - Overall it's been a pretty frustrating experience. Should I chance it with another Steeda mount or go a different route?

When you say "new to me 2017 GT".... the car had these parts on it when you bought it or you just put them on ?

The parts were already on the car. When I took the shock off, there was a bunch of dirt and debris in the upper part of the bearing next to the locking nuts - I think I saw others that came with a protective boot to keep dirt out of there - and I wonder if that has something to do with the failure.

Bearings are wear items.

incorrect top nut torque can easily increase the failure rate.

These specific steeda parts are tricky to torque correctly

Don’t expect an aftermarket manufacturer to warranty a part the previois owner bought.

i had a silimar issue which traced back to the shock itself making noise, not the steeda top mount FWIW.

good luck. The stock top mounts get a bad rap but they arent really any sort of noticeable downgrade IMHO, having run both.
