Hi,
There is no shortage of suspension parts offered for the S550 and I have a few questions...
Which ones are not required as they are addressed in the Mach1?
Which ones are should be investigated for the Mach1?
Which ones require an alignment check post install?

Ultimate Street Kit. 555-2129. Includes (555-4437, 4438,4121, 5754 and 4120) $1000.
Sub Frame Support Braces (Front). 555-5754. $290.
K Brace 555-5532. $175.
Front Sway Bar 555-1015. $290.
Rear Sway Bar 555-1016. $220.

I don’t think any of them are required. Make sure you put the car through it’s paces before throwing parts at it. The only thing I think is for sure on my list is jacking rails. MAYBE drop springs if they are subtle and maintain performance/ride of stock. You would have to push this car extremely hard before aftermarket parts started becoming necessary.

Here are the Steeda upgrades we did to the Steeda Mach 1 as a point of reference of what we upgraded:

https://www.steeda.com/2021-mustang-mach-1-build

Just like the S550 - anything IRS-related is going to be a good upgrade for this vehicle too.

Our build team can help put you in the correct parts depending on what you are looking to accomplish - feel free to reach out to me at tim at steeda if I can help put you in contact with them.

Thank you,

TJ

It depends on what you are using the vehicle for to be honest.

But as Steeda mentioned. Fixing all the IRS issues would be step 1

I'm sorry but what is wrong with the IRS on the handling pack Mach 1's? Mine seems to be working just fine and I haven't experienced wheel hop. This isn't a drag racing car.

If it aint broke, stop trying to fix it.

If you haven't found the IRS issues, your not driving the car hard enough or on track. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, but the reality.

Vertical IRS movement is really bad, subframe shifting at higher G's. Also, the S550 even under Hard acceleration in 1st/2nd loves to wag its tail(as the subframe moves around). Solve all that and you have a much better planted car and far more predictable

Its no different. My stock 2021 GT PP has all the same issues my 2021 M1 HP car had stock. Few select parts fixes a lot of the issues

I don’t think you can drive one of these hard enough on the street to find faults with the IRS. Let me rephrase that, if you drive it that hard most likely you’ll need mustang6g to set up a go fund me to bail you out of jail. I’m all for modding and if you want to change things up go for it. But the car in oem configuration is well balanced and more than capable on the street. It’s probably more than capable on the track for 95% of the buyers as well.

au contrair. The 'evil' of factory IRS is very apparent on any kind of challenging road at modest speeds. I've never owned a Mustang before in my life and it was obvious there were much undesirables going on within mere weeks of ownership.

Maybe I need to push my car harder? I’ve done some rule breaking and never felt the car was unstable or didn’t feel planted. Any harder and my wife will refuse to ride with me :cwl:

some people 'know' how a chassis should behave (or think they do) and sensitive enough to suss out the weakness. Others don't have a clue or are so numb to the concept thru decades of shit-box Mustang ownership they don't know any better. :)

NovaGT resisted my telling him his car sucked (relatively) until he did a few simple mods to the IRS and then was like "wow, holy moses this thing really works now". It really doesn't take a lot to improve things a very healthy degree.

I wish I knew what mountains were in Texas.

In all fairness, unless I'm on the track I probably cannot push the car to its limits without endangering myself or others. I would have to go to the track, see what issues I run into then correct from there. I'm tired of throwing money at parts without knowing if it actually does anything. Gotten a bit wiser as I've aged.

I've pushed my PP2 hard enough to find a few things that Steeda's kits could solve. The question is; am I going to push it hard enough often enough to justify the expense.
