lol best color ever!!!

Spoke to David a couple of days ago, I'm going with the Steeda power pack
(CAI/tune) as well. Blue filter is going to look sweet when I lift the hood on my blue biotch & pop my collar LOL.

As I am reading and learning more about the CAI for our mustangs and trying to decide which one I want I need to ask, why would one want to take a chance on tweaking the hood of the car if the hood is acting as the cover for the CAI? One poster mentioned that he may make a cover for his Steeda CAI. Why wouldn't you just run the AirRaid system that has the clear cover on it and does not have the close proximity to the hood? It seems to me that any CAI not requiring a tune is going to do the same job in the end and choosing one is a matter of personal preference on how it looks under the hood. For me anyway I am purchasing a CAI for the looks and not the performance due to very minimal gains. I am still learning though.

 that makes absolutely no sense, you rather have looks then performance? Just like everything else in life different manufacturers will make different quality products, go ahead and read this article and thank me later.

Probably what I was thinking: smooth, painted finish. I'd love to have one in Race Red ... :)
Got it! Same as the JLT painted options :clap2:

We have a Hydro Dip machine at my job but i think I'm to lazy to remove the tube, and have to put everything back together lol. i definitely want to hydro dip most of the stuff in the engine compartment though, think it would pull it all in together.

NOPE not the answer, i can tell you my hood sits 100% flush. I have 0 issues closing my hood, and it does not stick out more on that side.
My hood closes just fine too.

I'm still thinking about making a lid for this intake.
Interesting. I'll have to take a look at mine again today now that it's light out (install was done at night)

On a side note, I was so excited to start the car up after this install and tune that I forgot I park it in 1st.... dropped the clutch when I went to get out to examine the filter with the engine running... jumped the car forward in the garage and into my plastic shelving. LUCKILY, no damage!!!! Never felt more stupid than that moment. :frusty:

I have some paint resources on my end, but I think Steeda has paint services for things like body parts, so I figured, it would be easy[er] for them with it starting out totally disassembled.

I agree, it was initially a question to "Menace" asking him to chime in on why his was removed. I wasn't implying it was an answer to a hood fitment issue. I for one would double check that the air box was seated properly first before contemplating on whether I would trim the top edge of the air box.

I agree with you, differently shouldn't have to modify anything under the hood to make it fit. For the record i did see your original posting, i just didn't respond because i have no clue why he did it.
