I am working hard to find a Hurst Billet Competition Plus shifter for my 2007 GT500 convertible. The car has the 6 speed manual Tremec 6060 transmission.
For some reason, I cannot find the Hurst shifter for my GT500 6 speed manual car.
Hopefully, someone has gone through this and has the...
Torque setting on oil plug
I have NEVER used a torque wrench on an oil plug. You should develop a 'feel' for it.
However, if you must play with a torque wrench, set it to 18 foot pounds for the oil plug.
South Koreans Tell Trump They Might Buy American Cars When They Get Good Enough
Despite brands such as Ford, GM and Chrysler registering nearly double the imports last year, their sales account for just 1% in the South Korean market, where Hyundai and Kia dominate, reports Autonews...
I am surprised Mustang did not wallup Camao sales by at least 25%. Instead, they are only about 3% difference. People are people Camaros almost as much as Mustangs.
When I shift that slowly, I tend to become weary but then the car behind me blast his/her horn.
Shifting at all speeds producing the thunk in my Mustang GT. Today I was noticing I have do have the thud in all gear when stationary or while in motion. Unacceptable and very aggravating. I hold...
Fully disagree with you and the previous long post. Your supposition is clearly unbased and in error.
Even standing still with clutch fully dispressed for say, 5 seconds, put into ANY gear THUMP! Move from 1 to 2nd to 3rd to 4th to 5th to 6th, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, TUMP, THUMP!
When...
Did not like the busy entangled look of the factory 19" PP wheels at all. Really like the bold sculpted, clean, dynamic design of the 20" Foundry wheels. The Ford dealer cut me a deal on the Foundry wheels at delivery. The 20" wheels make all the difference in the aggressive look and stance of...
My GT PP with the 20" Foundry wheels and large tires have real trouble hooking up (stick). I must feather the clutch at about 3,500 RPMs until I feel solid road connection before I can unleash it. More torque and add in a 10 sp w/ torque converter will necessitate much larger tire patch area...
Ford can probably get by with a 20 to 30 H.P. bump so that the H.P spec will equal or just exceed the 6.2L Camaro. Ford is vastly outselling the Camaro so they are not needing to 'reinvent' the wheel in the near future. Most Mustang sales are with the modest engine powertrains and not the GT...
It is NOT the drive two piece drive shaft.
It is a combination of the rear end sub chassis and rear end shifting slightly against the main chassis. That is why the clunk thump is such a low frequency sounding noise.
While standing still, I can depress the clutch and rapidly shift between gears...

Here's Why We Think the 2018 Mustang GT Could Make 455 Horsepower
http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a32377/2018-ford-mustang-gt-horsepower/
That makes 'sense.' So perhaps Ford will take the old Lincoln 460 out of mothballs, redo the heads and have the valves driven by two cams and vola'! A Mustang with 460 ft. pounds of ground shaking torque.
What goes around...comes around!

I believe the Ford boys will want to exceed and not just match the Camaro LT-1 engine output (455 H.P. and 455 lb-ft of torque).
The larger Chevy engine will produce more torque than the 5.0 Mustang engine due to its much larger displacement.
Regarding output of the upgraded 5.0....
I feel the competition drove Ford engineers to target the ultimate output of the 2018 Mustang engine.
The Camaro SS 6.2L LT1 V8 produces 455 HP and 455 lb-ft of torque. That is the benchmark the Ford boys want to exceed with some margin for advertising...
