Before

Install takes about 45 min. That includes jacking the car up and getting wheels off.

15mm socket
18mm socket as most everything on this car requires these two sockets!
Long ratchet helps break the bolts loose
Torque wrench.

Dave, when are the other parts in the instruction pictures going to be available?

Oh, and thanks for the other part in the box. Wondered why the box was so big. The links are small!

Stout looking hardware vs. the stock ones. Very nice.

It's too cold to tell anything here. Sliding around isn't an indication of anything

Ha!

I'm trying to figure out the improvement here. Are the bushings different? Is it significantly lighter than the stock part?

The stock part is stamped steel. With rubber bushings.

Vs billet alum and graphite/alum bushings.

If you can't see the improvement over stamped steel vs billet alum.

Nothing I say is going to change your perception

Our Steeda vertical links will provide better overall suspension control.

Ours will not deflect like the OE stamped steel links with rubber bushings, ours use delrin bushings.

Ok, so it's mainly the bushings then. The billet isn't really doing anything, there's no way the stock piece is stretching, it would fatigue itself to death in short order. I'm suspicious of a delrin bushing though, it seems like it should have heims. Hopefully you guys can get some good weather so we can get before and after reports.

I would think (I have not researched) that stamped steel is more elastic than Billet Aluminium. Steel in general had a lot of elasticity in it and will transfer vibrations and noise. Aluminium is probably a but less elastic which will help reduce all of that.

Aluminum has [the potential for] a significant increase in term of resistance to deflection over steel. Steel has an extremely high fatigue resistance before it reaches fatigue limit ... so it would actually not [necessarily] fatigue itself to death in "short order". The increase in resistance to deflection would best be complimented by a stiffer bushing in terms of a system effect, as opposed to a flexible piece with a stiff bushing, or a stiff piece with a weak bushing. That energy has to go someplace - so has the rest of the system been adequately reinforced, or isit already adequate, for the the increase in directional load ... these are simply a small piece of the puzzle...

This is obviously a gross over generalization, as I have yet to see any numbers regarding stock vs. steeda stress testing, showing % increase... however, Im inclined to assume that these would actually be a significant improvement over the stock pieces due to both the delrin AND the billet aluminum.
