Finally took it out to the track. I thought we were going to have better air but it started out around 6500ft. DA and finished at 5800ft. The kit is on pump gas with some torco and seeing about 11lbs of boost. It's real tough to launch with the stock converter and tall tires (305/35/20)...

Using a calculator to convert to closer to sea level brings that some where near low 10's trapping high 130's. Not bad for stock motor, tranny and half shafts...

Boss... just be careful running that amount of boost.
PM if you want to know why
lets just say I am looking at short block options!

11psi is cause for concern? That is interesting to hear. Why is it a cause for concern? You sure the tune didn't have issues?

Not going to blame tune as it was fine @ 6 psi it was tuned for.

I am going to chuck it down to my inexperience with turbo's/boost controller and impatience to turn up the boost ( I was going to add a can of torco)

I was not getting any increase in boost using GFB electronic boost controller or the manual controller plugged into the upper wastgate port as instructed
Tried lower port and saw the increase I was looking for.Lol
I had a manual gauge at that point and saw 11-12 psi before I started seeing white smoke venting out of the engine.
Initially just thought oil had blown back in to engine at higher boost and just needed to sort out a PCV system but it is it is a lot of smoke.
My guy at ford who did the Install says cylinder #4 has no pressure .
Oh well. I guess you got to pay to play .
I was just hoping not to build it yet( my 12 is on its 3rd engine after first aluminator failed)
I gues I i get the chance build it stronger !
Not going to replace the engine with the same.
The 15 aluminators are out but at 10 grand ouch!

Cheapest way may be to send it MMR to rebuild block or just buy a built short block.
If i can sell it (Hellion kit)at a decent price I would prefer to go back to what I know - superchargers.
While it was running at low boost I really missed the Low end grunt of a PD blower and would love to switch to a KB.
If I can't sell it I will just have to be turn it up and may be do a fuel System and run e85

Sorry man:(

Hope you get it all straightened out. Best of luck. Hopefully you can sell the TT kit and get back to a SC setup.

Very unfortunate. I don't think you should give up on the turbos, just learn from your mistakes and move on. You're taking a step backwards going with a supercharger. Get a good boost controller, learn how to hook it up and operate it. Never get impatient with adding boost. Always have sufficient fuel and octane for your tune. Always creep your boost up towards your target.

Thanks for the advice.

As they say I am trying to "Hunt the good stuff" and looking for the positive in all of this.

At least I get to build (or buy) a block with stronger internals and should be able

to turn up the boost.... as long as I have enough fuel/octane(see I am

learning,lol).

No point going back to the stock set up even if I could warranty it(which would

not be the right thing to do anyway).

To be honest I really was not "feeling" it at the 6lbs so may be higher levels of

boost will be more satisfying.

I don't really have the option of giving up on turbos as I still have my

M235,daily driver, occasional strip warrior and hopefully will be getting the on3

car back soon.

I quit hassling him and I am just going to let the guy work .

I am sure I am going to like the finished product.

Best past is, apart for paying for ball bearing turbo upgrade and the dyno tune I

will have no other cost(well other than the car/insurance/title payments I have

made while the car has been there for 9 months .lol)

He is installing 7-8 lb waste gate springs tomorrow and getting it dyno tuned

with the help of the famous Sai.He says he has sorted out the initial issue he too

had with the IMRC.

You can bet I won't be messing with boost controllers once it is set.Lol....... at

least for a while

I am already entertaining the idea of buying a new block(rather than rebuilding)

for the Hellion car and then building the damaged block-Maybe go "full retard"

and sleeve the block to a 5.2 in anticipation of when I decide to turn up the on3 car.Lol .

I know I will need fuel/octane but I am reluctant to do a fuel system like I did on

my 12 to run E85 since I think that was the turning point when that car stopped

driving nice.

Before any one says "it is the tune" ,I have a lund tune for that car .Car runs

fast( should see 9's once dialed in) but not as nice as it did with the stock fuel

system.May be it is the system I have.( Lehtal and 3 walpro pumps/ID 1300's)

How much power can I safely make with the turbos/ the stock fuel system with

race gas on built bottom end?

That would be my preference even though more expensive than E85.

Anyway end of long ramble and sorry to have hijacked OP 's thread

I feel the pump gas tune is about as good as its going to get. Its probably making about 675rwhp or so on 11lbs. With the pump gas available to me this is all we can get. So everyone knows what that means.... E85!!!

Beefcake hooked me up!!! I got a complete Fore Innovations 3 pump setup on the way to me. Along with the E85 switch I am changing out the thermostat to a cooler one, changing out the catback to a full 3" magna flow street setup and putting in a DSS carbon driveshaft...

I can't wait to get all the fuel parts and get them installed!

Mental note if you are doing a twin turbo setup and thermostat, please change the thermostat while doing the install. Its ALOT of work after the kit is on.

New exhaust! 3" all the way back! I am taking the X-pipe that came with the Magnaflow street catback to a local exhaust shop and they are taking off the part that necks down to 2.5" to hook up to the factory exhaust. I will also be taking off the neck down to 2.5" off my hellion kit so I will now have 3" the full way. I am looking forward to the new sound!!!

It can be done without removing turbos. Took about 30-45 minutes
