Stapmed pony under hood missing?

Had a squirrel or smthen tear up my under hood insulation so i was looking online to find a new one & noticed some posts about a stamped pony under the hood. I have a 2016 gt premium & i do not have a pony stamped under my hood. Are all 2015-2017 mustang gt's supposed to have this? I was thinking about just removing the under hood insulation so the pony was visible & now im bummed my hood doesnt have one & wondering why?

Ya i was just curious if maybe my hood was replaced by a previous owner or smthen? The reason i had my hood open in the first place was to change my intake out for the gt350 cai i have & without the insulation there it will let even more hot engine air into the intake so i put my old insulation back in for now & will order a new one.

I haven't checked my 2016 but for sure the 2017+ hoods got this.

It is a novelty, kind of like our 2016 hood turn signals.

Apparently for those that get snow, the idea came from snow melting faster from engine heat in that pony/oval shape.

Don't know about you OP, but I'll take our novelty hood turn signals over that any day. LOL At least we can see the driver's turn signal regularly and not under 'special conditions'

I would tend to think the previous owner replaced the hood with a non-Genuine Ford hood. Or Ford may have replaced it under the corrosion warranty, putting a cost-cutting style hood on it.

Huh thats weird ill have to take a better look at my hood but i know when i first bought the car i ran a carfax & didnt see anything about any damage? Cant imagine they only came on the 2016 ecoboost & not the gt's? Now im wondering if my car has maybe been wrecked or smthen & my hood was replaced? Does anyone else out there have a 2016 gt that doesnt have the pony stamped under the hood?

just a thought maybe org owner had corrosion on it and replaced it himself ??? or had a panelshop do it for him ??

I would say your hood was replaced, due to damage or corrosion. Could have used a hood from a '18 up as they do not have them. Carfax is not 100% reliable , if it did not go through insurance there is probably no carfax on it.
