Staggering mini mufflers

I want to install 2 mini mufflers at the end of my h pipe and the exhaust shop said they might end up touching due to the 4" body diameter. The h pipe is long enough where im sure he could stagger them where they arent exactly side by side. Would that cause any issues?

How mini? Staggering shouldn't be an issue but little race bullets won't really do anything.

Are you going to run any other mufflers, what size is the exhaust that's on the car
It has kooks catless long tube headers and mbrp h pipe. I took the mbrp race mufflers off from the h pipe and put on a corsa sport axle back and its undriveable. Its pretty much 3" behind the headers.

I saw that others had success with mini mufflers and wanted to get them as far forward as possible. If that doesnt knock it down enough i want to add 2 mini resonators in there too. I have the mini mufflers already and the mini resonators are on the way which have a 3.5" body.

6 inch long versions. I just need to knock the edge off and some rasp. It was loud before and if i can get it back down to the mbrp race level im fine with that. Its a bad rasp at 3k

I threw some 6" race mufflers into my set up and it didn't do squat. 1db on a tester but unnoticeable to the ear. I had much better luck with some fiber glass mufflers cut in after my x pipe. Dropped it a few dbs and was noticably better on the ears.

Im going to give it a shot since i have them already. If it doesnt do anything i will add the resonators on top of that. I wonder why it works for some and not others. Last resort would be something like the borla resonated h pipe. If i can just remove the rasp and crack at 3k and maybe have that at 5k i will be ok with it. Its pretty much a weekend car.

Yea if these mini mufflers dont help thats probably what im gonna do. After driving more im guessing its not that much louder than the mbrp but without cats theres a metallic rasp at 2500-3000 and doesnt seem to get much louder after 3k. That metallic rasp echos so loud on these country back roads and thats what i think im hearing.

I was thinking that but not too sure how garanteed the maganaflow will be after looking at post saying how big it is and how low it hangs. Im going to give these mini mufflers a shot since ive seen several post and or reviews saying they achieved what im looking for. Not too worried about cutting up this mbrp h pipe and it most likely wouldnt sell where i live.

Also i have to drive this thing for a week or two while my daily gets a transmission rebuild so at this point i need to make whatever improvements i can right now.

@KilluminatiDre do you have LTHs on your car? Iā€˜m asking because I put 4ā€ mini race mufflers in my exhaust when the cats blew out and they didn’t do anything to tame to sound.

See post #37 and #50 for fitment to give you an idea of how fitment is. Thereā€˜s about 1/4ā€ of space between the top of the mini race mufflers and the floor pan.

Yes i have catless long tubes. I have the totalflow mini mufflers not the vibrants though. Im going to give them a shot today since i dont have many other options at the moment. Will probably end up with the magnaflow 12469 but in the meantime i have to see if these totalflows can knock down some of the rasoy echo at 2500-3000. I just put my daily in the transmission shop and im having to start off in 2nd gear to avoid getting pulled over. Its mainly the metallic sound at 2500-3000 thats obnoxious than the overall loudness.

EDIT: listening to your clip it definitely sounds cleaner than mine. Another thing is that im in the country and the metallic rasp echos louder than the exhaust tone. The mbrp was loud too but i was deeper and didnt have that echo.if i can reduce the echo i dont think the cops will bother me.
