Jeff has referred me out to the regional service guy, who can't help until the car is in the dealer's system, and the dealer won't put the car in the system until he hears the noise personally. Catch 22.

I may have to drive the additional miles to the next dealer across the valley and see if they are any more open minded or customer focused.

As I said, this should be a recall. The cars all need fixing and Ford knows it.
Sorry to hear your about your situation. Did you try leaving the car with them overnight? I hope the other dealership can help.

That's a great idea. Leave the car with them and have them try to replicate the noise the following morning when everything is cold. Good luck.

They don't really want it overnight. They want it to be making noise when they book it into the system.

Maybe you can take them on a test drive since I bet you know what it takes to make it squeal. At this point I would tell them that you insist on leaving it there since doing it their way isn't working.

Sounds like faulty reasoning and practice to me. I would ask to speak to the GM of the dealership and explain to him that the issue arises during cold drives. Tell him to hold it overnight and try it the next morning. In fact, if they let you, hold the car there over night and be at the dealership first thing in the morning and drive it with them.

But definitely speak to the GM and if that doesn't work, speak to the owner of the dealership.

Finally! The parts came in and the dealership did the install today! No squealing on the drive home, and I tried hard to get it to. So happy to have this taken care of.
Unfortunately they didn't have the parts needed to replace the passenger seat move switch which broke off, or the driver's side turn signal indicator lamp that burned out... So I'll be headed back to the dealer soon. But we're making progress!

I definitely recommend speaking with the service manager and doing a ride-along with them. As John stated above, you may be able to replicate it better than the service techs.

I'm about to take mine into the dealer. With my luck it won't squeal. Does anyone know if the replacement kit consists of new pads or new rotors or both? Also, does the replacement provide less braking ability than what I have now? My GT was built on 11/18/14.

It is both pads and rotors, but I have read that the pads are the same part number as the old ones.

I have not noticed a difference in braking ability.

The TSB is only for PP Mustangs

I found this picture of the TSB on the Mustang Source site. Since I don't have the PP on my GT Premium, do you think they will still replace mine per the TSB? I thought I read in this thread that it was non-PP units...

Non PP for GT, PP for EcoBoost

Seriously - it is the for the GT without Performance Pack *or* the EcoBoost with Performance Pack.

There are 3 kinds of brakes:
  • V6 and non PP EcoBoost
  • GT and EcoBoost PP
  • GT PP

There is only one option which includes a GT *and* an EcoBoost.

The GT PP has different brakes than all other cars.
The V6 and the non Performance Pack EcoBoost don't share brakes with any GT.
Only the Non PP GT has the same brakes as any EcoBoost.

Therefore, the Non PP GT and the EcoBoost PP are the models addressed by the TSB

The wording can be a bit confusing on the TSB and interpreted a couple of ways. Ford could have been a bit more clear that it's the 5.0L GT w/o PP and the Ecoboost with PP.

The header says "5.0L and 2.3L EcoBoost with PP" ... the issue statement says "5.0L or 2.3L EcoBoost with PP".

Brake squeal on '15 GT with PP

Hey guys I just bought my GT about 2 weeks ago and I started hearing this same noise about 4 days ago, I noticed that this "fix" is only for the non PP GT and the PP EB... Have you heard anything for GT's with the PP?

There is a different thread on these forums. It was recently updated and can be found on the first page. Here is the link: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13881&page=2

There isn't much helpful information. Just a couple members complaining about their squealing GT w/PP. I've read a few times that there's a sticker/tag that's being left on some part of the GT w/PP braking system that just needs to get removed. Hopefully your's can be solved that easily. Either way, contact FordService on these forums via private message and include VIN, mileage, name, phone number, and dealer. They'll get the ball rolling for you.
