I have Steeda Sport springs and Steeda camber plates. The springs were on the car when I bought it a year and a half ago. I had the camber plates but on last spring.

About a month ago, I noticed some minor squeaking coming from the drivers front. I wasn't overly concerned as it was just a minor annoyance, and it was most prevalent in the cold mornings. Now that minor squeak is fairly persistent throughout the day. It's not obtrusive, but you can hear it with the windows up and radio off.

This evening I was driving with the radio off, and noticed and unusual swishing like noise while going down the road over uneven pavement. It was coming from the front suspension and seems like its more on the passenger side. The noise is difficult to describe, but it sounded like bushing or even shock noise to me.

I came home and checked the torque on the 3 camber bolts on each side. They are all tight. But the 2 "shock bolts" in the center seemed to turn pretty easy with my torque wrench.

Im pretty sure this has something to do with camber plates or the install by the shop when it was done. Can anyone give me some insight on what the possible issue is? Are the two center shock bolts supposed to be torqued down? If so what's the torque setting?

Thanks.

From what I was told, you don’t want to turn the outer nut without having the center stem stationary or damage can happen to the strut assembly.

Yep, you do not want to turn the shock shaft when tightening the nut. The socket above is one method, another I've done is a 1/2" impact socket and pipe wrench on outside along with a 1/4" drive 6pt passing through the impact socket to hold the strut shaft stationary. This along with sway bar bolts are often undertorqued. If the strut nut is loose it can destroy the spherical bearing in your camber plate.
