Wanting to do a few upgrades to my Mach 1 (may or may not have a small end of year bonus burning my pockets đź‘€). Mostly just putting around town, but do occasionally do some track time and some spirited road driving i.e., The Dragon etc. Want to add a bit more rubber over the stock non-HP tire sizes and firm up the suspension some, feel like I'm leaving some handling on the table as my skill has increased. Two stages here but I think they might be related somewhat based on my goals, so wanted some feedback.

1st: Wheels and tires, I dunno if it makes me a poser but I really like/want the stock HP Bird nest wheels and I like the tire sizes. I know I'd need to add the fender flair to the front. Should I be considering other options here? Is it really it frowned upon to run HP wheels on a none HP since it's not technically up badging?

2nd: Suspension, thinking I want to go full Steeda here, I've put together a quick build but wanted some input on if what I chose is correct or needed or if I should change, add, or remove anything. I'm scrubbing the outer shoulder of the front tires and figure a bit of camber would help so adding the camber plates or maybe it's just HP envy . Not sure if the magnaride tune is really that great and it's very spendy and could easily be added later. Slightly worried about lowering springs tbh even slightly roads are rough and it's a bit of a lip to get in my garage/shop.

Thanks for the help/input.

As for point 1, I bought my Non HP car, and the previous owner had already done the HP Wheels (Ford Performance), put the front splitter, the fender lips, and the rear spoiler with gurney flap on it. I couldn't be happier with it, I made it my own to a certain degree (de striped the sides, and paint matched the rear spoiler). Haters gonna hate, just do what makes you happy :)

As for point 2, I just did a Steeda rear sway bar as the front one on the HP car is the same. I also did the full stop the hop kit, the sub frame braces, and that was it. With stock springs, my tires don't wear funny at all, and mine handles really well, I take to the dragon frequently and have never lacked for any grip or performance at all.. This was Sunday, almost 70 degree day the Sunday after Christmas :)

That wheel tire fitment looks good with the HP wheels, I thought I remembered the HP was slightly lower than the none HP, but maybe I'm wrong. Which kit did you go with? Did you also do the diff bushing upgrade? The less I buy the happier I'll be lol.

We were on the dragon on the 21st while it was so warm as well. Hardly anyone out, it was a lot of fun.

I did the Steeda kit that has the support bushings and the subframe lockouts. And the support braces. Plus the rear sway bar. I can't remember exactly what it was called. I didn't do toe links or any of that, was too afraid of NVH.

As for slightly lower, maybe. But mine sits too low as it is, I have to be super careful in parking lots and stuff anyway. It sits really nice to me, I am past 1/2 century now, the less I have to get down the better :) Had a local shop here to Knoxville do it for me, he is fantastic.

The hight has been talked about alot on this site. The hight difference is due to 30 series tires VS 40 series tires on the non HP. Not the springs.

What shop did you use? I can do most of my own work, I have a decent space to work and a 4 post lift and lots of tools, but always good to have someone on hand.

Another option is the LMR version of the handling pack wheels. The paint finish will be different than OEM, but they'll be lighter. You could do the extended stud with spacer approach if you want to run 19x11 up front.

Are these the exact back spacing etc as the stock HP wheels? It'd just be a lighter wheel with a different finish? Assuming you'd still need the HP fender flare extension in the front.

Wicked Performance TN. They are fantastic. He regularly does superchargers, suspension, the whole nine yards. Has done more S550 and S650 platform cars than I can count. He did all my work as my garage is a 1 car and super narrow.

These wheels are made to fit a standard GT configuration and not need fender extensions as they are 10 wide front (HP are 10.5 wide).. They are back spaced like all other SVE wheels, but the same look as the factory ones. The genuine ones from Ford Performance are the "real deal", and they are admittedly HEAVY. But they fit just like genuine HP wheels, cause they are :)

Nobody cares about real or build a bear HP. That's not up badging. It's a package. Anybody who shames a non HP is a weirdo. That said I am a HP car and

I have the following:

STEEDA:
X PIPE
2 point G-Trac Brace
Jacking rails
IRS subframe supports
IRS Subframe bushing support
IRS subframe alignment
Aluminum vertical links
Adjustable rear toe links
Bumpsteer kit
Differential bushings
Competition sway bars
Sport progressive springs
Camber plates
Rear adjustable camber arms
Stainless steel brake lines

UPR
Engine mounts

I admit I might have over did it in the cruiser/track ratio lol

I loved the way it handles with the stock and hop kit and just kept going

sometimes when I just want to cruise home after a few hours of tearing it up it can be a bit much or it's always in the room with you. 🤷🏻‍♂️ but it's a weekend fun car not my daily. So I'll live and probably finish out the catalogue lol

For those who might wonder, I suspect, when Ford first introduced the Mach 1 in 2021, Covid was peaking, and they had more HP option orders than they had wheels and spoilers. The parts quantities that Ford ordered came late, so they gave them to Ford performance to sell to market and a lot of cars got built without the option or missing a part of it.

The SVE wheel package with 285/35/19 front and 305/35/19 rear would be a nice upgrade. Would fit without spacers or need for wheel moldings. I really love my Conti Sport 02s. Great tire and comes in those sizes.
