Yea I'm going to do the install of the FP shocks/struts as well as the springs myself. I have all the tools and I like working on this car haha.

And at this point I just need the springs. I have aftermarket sways and I have the toe link bearing so no need for the full kit.

Yea man I'm actually looking to simplify my setup. I'm going from koni yellows to the FP shocks/struts. I do not use the adjustability on the konis (one is also damaged and they're pretty worn out). And it's not that I dont like the eibach pro spring I currently have, I just want to try something new that might pair better with the FP shocks/struts.

My only thing is keeping a similar drop to my current setup.
I actually think AJ's setup would be even better for you based on that. In addition to the ability to use any off the shelf 2.5" x 7" spring, AJ has shims, which can adjust your ride height in 1/16" increments. I've actually used it to raise the front of my car a bit.

I did have the FP springs initially, and they aren't bad. But if I had to do it again, I would go straight to the AJ set up and be done with it.

To clarify, you would still use the FP shocks/struts you have. Take a look at his site, it's a pretty slick set up for those of us without endless pockets for coil overs LOL

hahah ok thanks man.

Like I said, I'm open to any suggestions. I'll definitely take a look at that setup.

I'm running BMR springs - SP084 front handling springs (246 in-lb), and SP099 rear drag springs (800 in-lb). I think they match up pretty well with the FRPP dampers. The rears could have a little better rebound damping, but that's me nitpicking. Lowering looks to be a little less than an inch, giving the car a much better profile while still being to traverse the crappy streets around my office in Dallas.

I highly recommend my spring setup as it keeps the rear a little softer and more compliant than the rear handling springs (980 lb-in), while making the front more responsive. I read a lot of threads around here before changing the fronts to the handling version - I previously had the SP081 performance springs (170 lb-in) and felt the front was a little soft for my liking.

Thanks this is honestly a possibly great route for me.

I'm not opposed to mix/match springs. Although I do have some great roads to drive on in north Jersey, I do have to deal with some garbage hudson county roads somewhat often. Definitely another consideration for my spring choice.

I have the complete Ford Performance track handling kit with the adjustable sways on my car and I think it works great. Ride is comparable to a GT350 from a stiffness point of view. I really like it for daily driving. The car is lowered significantly, but I haven't had any problems with dragging the splitter tires rubbing (even the Mach 1 HP OE sizes fit) or anything like that.

I think the springs that come with the FP track handling kit are a decent choice for street driving and they work well for the track. I'd prefer a firmer spring for the track, but for the street I think they are nearly perfect.
i spoke with someone at ford performance and he said he thought the f/p track kit was too rough for the street,i had an opportunity to drive a "RTR SPEC 2(S650)and a 301A car with eibach sportlines(both 10r80)since they were both brand new,i drove them both like i would daily drive my own car...they were both smooth as butter and actually rode better that my 21gt(301/10r80)the only difference in ride quality was that the "eibach"equipped car was an inch lower than the "RTR..i would prefer to get the "ford performance kit"(even thou it seems to be unavailble)...i wonder if anyone has compared ride quality between the F/P TRACK KIT and the "RTR SPEC-2 KIT?

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of redoing my entire suspension and I'm having trouble choosing new springs. I am already decided on the FRPP Track kit for struts and shocks.

I currently have eibach pro springs and I'm trying to find springs with a similar drop (~ 1 inch), but maybe better suited to spirited driving / twisty backroads. Not sure if I wanna stay with progressive springs or go linear. Open to any suggestions.

Currently considering the BMR SP083 (per @Bluemustang recommendation) or the Steeda Ultralite Linear or the Ford Performance Y Springs. Again, I am open to any suggestions considering they get a similar drop to the eibach pro I have.

Thanks,
D
I'm running Steeda linear min drop springs with the Ford Track shocks and struts. I had Steeda put the springs on the struts. It's been about a year and I'm very happy with it.

Thats not true at all. I found the FordPerformance TrackKit very streetable. In fact the car should have this as the OEM PP setup.

I have not, but I can tell you that the stock suspension on a GR86 is noticeably stiffer than the FP Track Kit. The stock suspension on the Fiesta ST I owned is also stiffer... and not just a little bit.

My Camaro LT1 suspension is similar in stiffness, but the car rides a little harsher than a Mustang with the FP Track suspension on it. I think it's due to the 20 inch wheels on the Camaro.

So - I would say the FP Track Suspension is FAAAAR from being too stiff for street driving. Many factory built sporty cars have a similar ride stiffness.

it can feel busy on bumpy roads but its never underdamped and never feels harsh. I'd rather the bumps compress and rebound quickly versus stock with is just a bunch of wallowing and bobble heading.

LOL, the FiST felt like it has Louisville sluggers for shocks and struts. I miss my FiST

Yeah, those things are just stupid stiff. I wish Ford would have put an e-diff in them; it would have made the car much better.

The interior materials in base Fiesta STs are a lot nicer than those in base Mustangs, too.
