I’d like to install the ford performance W springs on my 2019 PP2. I recently traded my old 2019 A10 base gt for a PP2, and I had BMR SP083 and ford performance track shocks, as well as a number of other bmr and Steeda parts. I’ve installed and now uninstalled the springs and struts a number of times on the old car, so I’m very familiar with the process.
Let me just say that the magneride on the PP2 is on a whole other level than my previous setup. But with the 305/30’s all around, there is a decent amount of wheel gap I would like to eliminate, and I was thinking about the FP W springs since they say that the PP2 doesn’t need a recalibration for the magneride module.
A few questions though:
1)Are there any special concerns when installing springs on a magneride car? Previously I’ve just hit the top nut on the front struts with my impact, just short bursts to get it loosened/tightened. But inevitably, the shaft spins a bit but wasn’t concerned with traditional struts. If I get the Steeda strut socket that allows for torquing while holding the shaft, is there any concern with damaging the magneride strut if the shaft does spin a bit at some point?
2) With the aggressive offset and 305’s in the front on the PP2, will I have any clearance issues with the front fenders? I previously had SVE pp2 replicas on the old car, but those weren’t nearly as aggressive of an offset in the front, so I never had an issue.
3) Have there been any issues with springs lessening the life span of the magneride shocks? I usually upgrade shocks with springs, but obviously want to keep the magneride.
