I'm no plumber, even though I may resemble one when bent over sometimes.......

I tapped into the spigot CPVC pipe that runs down the wall of my garage. I put a shut-off pre and post filter and bought a dedicated 75' soft flexible hose for rinsing. I wanted a soft hose just incase it hits the car as I rinse it. Whole kit and kabootle cost me $200.

I am just giving the glue a good couple of hours to completely dry before I turn the water back on, thats why I have not filled the canisters with the media yet. Well that and why let it sit there when I am a month away from using it.

I just got my cr set up and the left canister is leaking like crazy, right one is fine. For the life of my can’t get it any tighter, could there be another reason for the leak?
Did you put the centering rings around the canister? Just spit-balling

I installed a US Water Systems unit with a bypass that I have been satisfied with.

What’s the smaller canister for? That’s a nice setup, all these cool thing I see are going into my “will have when I build my own house” book.

Thanks. The first one is a Carbon Pre-Filter and then it has two Mixed Bed DI Cartridges.

Can I get the same results if I wash the car without using this system, but then rinse the car using it? Wouldn't this make the filters last twice as long if you only use it to rinse?
I only use it to rinse

I am a newbie when it comes to these kind of things, and I didn't read up on them before I asked that question. Rinsing only was written in the description, had I taken the time to read them first lol.

I look forward to seeing how this works. I also bought a tester and the hard water reading is about 270 to start. I will see what the filtered reading is once I install the media.

I just used my CR Spotless for the first time last night. I didn’t wait for it to dry though, I grabbed the leaf blower as I was pulling it back into the garage afterwards and didn’t want water on the floor. No spots at all!

Just because there are supposed to be no water spots, doesn't mean there won't be. I would, and will do the same thing as youmost likely. Even lessening the chance for water spots is welcomed. Glad to hear it worked well for you, and I hope for the same outcome.

I tested my rig on my F250 after a good wash and left it in the June Corpus Christi sun until it was completely dryI didn't go over it with a fine tooth comb but I only saw a couple water spots that no one else would have. It works and yep, no need to use it for washing, you just waste resin time.

I pull my girl in after the final rinse and blow her off with a Max Blaster. Zero spots, then.

Leaving it outside wet will attract dust and contaminants so it can leave spots that way.

I got a year out of my CR Spotless DI20 before having to replace the resin. I used their exchange system and if I recall, it was $119. That to me is not bad for a year out of it and I use it for washing and rinsing.

Doesn't take long for direct sun to start causing spots when you start the other half of the car and constantly have to worry about keeping what you just washed wet till you are ready to rinse.

I said screw it, just use it for the whole washing process and not worry.

Reviving this thread. Washed my car last week and the TDS meter on my CR DIC20 started reading 5 PPM when it was zero the last time. Not bad for 2 years and 4 months on the original cartridges.

But, I got the RV Mods down tubes so I’ll be ditching the cartridges and going with mixed bed resin in the outer containers. Anyone done this and know how much resin I’ll need? Also, any recommendations for where to buy 60/40 resin? Most places are over $210 for a cubic foot.
