Sport Mode Automatic

Anyone else able to use 6 gear in sport mode? for some reason mine is now shifting into 6th gear while in sport mode. Didn't use to be that way when I first got the car. If you put in sport mode, it would only go to 5th gear, maybe a computer problem?

If i'm casually driving in sport mode in 3rd or 4th and get up to 75-80mph and stop accelerating(on the highway) it'll go in to 6th. But if i'm mashing on it to the floor, it'll hold 3rd to 7000rpm well over 80mph, i don't think it will ever go in to 6th unless i'm over 140+ mph. I've never tried that yet, no where to do it.

I didn't think in S mode it was supposed to go into 6th gear at all. I know when I first got the car about three weeks ago, it wouldn't. If I was manually shifting it with the paddles in S mode, it would go to 5th gear only with the paddles and if I tried to go into 6th gear the light would flash and not shift. Just want to make sure its not an issue. I did disconnect the battery when I did my exhaust, but I wouldn't think that would hurt the programing at all.

Mine will go into 6th with it in S shifting on its own or shifting with paddles. Always has.

what rpm in 5th were you trying to upshift? what speed was it at? maybe the rpm was too low for 6th. try going faster

It may be adaptive and load sensitive. First time I used S on the highway it stayed on 5. Recently it went to 6 on its own. Once you paddle it, it no longer shifts on its own unless you go to D and back to S.
Any more quirks I should know about?

Its adaptive. You've been driving with it in S mode too often like a granny.

Only put it in S mode when you really need / want performance.

Mine has always gone into 6th. In casual driving, it will shift into 6th when cruising over 65mph.

I only use S mode to go into the paddles. Otherwise it is annoying driving around town. Maybe it's the blower vent noise but I can't see a reason to drive in S at all. But to stay on OP topic, I do not see 6th in S mode.

It's just a matter of it adapting. It's not an issue with the computer.

Mine will only shift into 6th when I am cruising above 70mph on the highway. I really do believe these computers are adaptive. After disconnecting my battery, I made an effort to drive as hard as i can in normal drive mode. Now the shifts are extremely firm in drive.

What I like about it is it stays in first longer and when it downshifts the exhaust sounds cool with what seems like rev matching.
What I don't like is that it stays in 2nd too long. The rest of the gears are fine.

Thanks for the comments guys, I thought for a minute there was a computer issue, I do drive it in S mode quite frequently , so it must have adapted to my driving style.

I drive in Sport+ mode most of the time, shifter on D. Mine shifts into 6th, but does downshift to 5th with any touch of the throttle or deceleration.

I can't take the strong rev matching weird downshifting it does. Can only smack your face on The steering wheel so many times, lol
