If you put the trans in S you'll see that you only have 3 drive modes to choose from: sport, sport plus, or track. So trans in S and mode in sport = more aggressive trans performance; trans in S and mode in sport plus = more aggressive trans AND more steering feel and throttle response. So you have a little more nuance available in terms of your driving preferences.

PS I tried out snow mode in couple inches of snow/slush/freezing rain and couldn't have been more impressed - really made the car feel settled around the neighborhood and even at moderate highway speeds.

You'll also notice in Sports+ they car does engine braking as you slow down. I've found that to be quite fun... as long as there's no cops sitting at the red light when it decides to down shift.
