Just to clarify what I wrote earlier. I carry a pistol legally...have for many years...
When I said I would point my .45....read again....in only the most dangerous of situations or "attacks" against me/my car...would I do that. If I can't get out of the situation...as happened to me many yrs. ago...I got cut off and forced on to an off ramp...they stopped...BIG GUY, could have kicked my butt...but, I didn't give him the chance as he advanced toward me..we were out of our cars....I showed my pistol and stared right at him...he said.."I don't need this shit" and took off.

My whole family is in one of two lines of work, LE or medicine. I carry legally and openly as this is an open carry state, even though I have concealed carry, and with 24 years in the military and A LOT of specialized weapons training, the ability to use a weapon properly.

I had a similar situation when a guy with a trailer on a farm truck went around me and cut me off with the trailer almost taking out the front left side of my car. At a stop sign, he threw it in park and got out. I exited my vehicle as well and watched his eyes go to my right hip, at which point he turned, got back in his truck and took off. I never even put my hand on the weapon. Filed a report with the local sheriff just to CYA in case anything happened to my car after that. It's a very small town I work in....

IF it happened while driving and again..a dire situation was "looming"...I would show my weapon...and I would call the cops, explain what happened...what I did...and then call my lawyer.

So...if anyone thinks...or cares...if I would just "routinely" show my weapon...your very wrong. I'm too smart for that. Colorado allows the carrying of loaded weapons at the ready in your vehicles...without a carry permit. True fact. So, why do you think they allow that? Don't need any answers...it's a rhetorical question. But, it's not so you can point your weapon each time someone "flips you off."....but, in a dire possible life and death encounter...you can protect yourself. Just know what you are doing with a pistol....training, training, training.....

So yesterday on my way home from work, this assbag in his lifted redneck F250 with baja lights all over it pulls up next to me with my windows down and starts flooring it to spew black shitty diesel smoke out all over me.

I see this and speed up enough to avoid it, flip the bird and get over another lane.

He proceeds to hop a curb, pass two cars, get next to me, and spits on my hood. Then immediately floors it, spewing more shitty smoke, and weaves in and out of 5 cars and on the shoulder to get away.

Was I going to chase him down? Not at all. I could give two shits about getting even or fighting the guy. Was I mad as hell? You betcha. Would have loved nothing more than to see him roll his truck and then walk away (no morbid wishing death on anyone)

No pictures or anything, went home and cleaned it off and now I have a clean spot on my hood which makes the rest of the car look dirty.

No real point to posting this other than to vent. Karma is a bitch for that guy...

Call the cops. That's illegal to do that. Probably one of these ---hats.

I leaned this the hard way many years ago. I'd not long passed my driving test and was out and about in my first car. Someone tried to pull in front of me, so I gave them a right mouthful. Unfortunately, this guy was a complete nut-job and proceeded to try and run me off the road. Scared the living crap outta me!

Now I assume they're ALL nut-jobs.............and keep out of their way.

Good advice. I had a guy years ago cut me off so I flipped him off and went my own way. Later I pulled into a parking lot and he followed me (didn't know he was behind me). The guy literally wanted to drag me out of the car and kill me. If I hadn't sped off, I doubt I'd be writing this. There were several of them. As long as there's no damage, it's best to mumble under your breath and go on. Besides a cell phone, you never know what else the other guy has in his car.

I try to be attentive and courteous, but it's so hard when it seems like everyone else is out there just meandering around, driving with no purpose. Slow poeple in the fast lane really annoy me, so I just try to get by as safely as possible. I'll pass on the right (luckily it isn't illegal here) rather than tailgating, but always try to give plenty of space and not freak anyone else out.

Still, it is so frustrating sometimes.

The one thing I've been told at every drivers school I've attended (I've had a few speeding tickets over the years), is NEVER flip anyone off. Don't even make hand gestures at someone. You just never know what kind of crazy might be in the other car.

I realize I'm a bit of a fast driver, and therefore try extra hard to make up for it by letting people merge easily, using blinkers all the time, etc. I do believe that the energy you put out into the world is returned to you, so if you put out negative energy that is what you will get, and if you put out positive energy you'll have positive returns (I guess that's what Karma is all about), so I'm sure those guys will eventually do that to the wrong person, or in front of a cop, and will get their just desserts. Just stay calm and enjoy the drive (if possible).

When I was younger I used to think Mustang drivers were douches...and then I got older and realized that it's the idiots in Lifted Trucks. Most of the time though they leave people alone but if theres a douchef*ck in the truck, he's usually the most ultimate douchef*ck.
When they are next to me or behind me, I usually try to take a look at who the driver is and most of the time if he looks like a douchecrap I smile because I'm thinking about punching him in the face.

But not all the time is it a guy driving, ive seen like 2 women who were driving huge lifted trucks (probably their bf's)...but im just like ew, she probably the type that don't shave her armpits.
