Nah the dude in the Porsche can easily get off for self defense since VW guy intentionally assaulted him with a deadly weapon.

But yeah, it takes so much less time in your life to just f off and go about your day.
I could be wrong as I'm not well versed in the law but I think kicking someone in the head multiple times while they are on the ground is assault. But like I said I could be wrong. Just sad that a simple cut off and honk can lead to that

IDK man you assault me, try to take my property, or come in my house against my will and your skull is getting crushed or your face shot multiple times and I'm paying minimal lawyer fees to walk.

When dude attempted manslaughter with a deadly weapon by intentionally backing into the other car, he asked for a curb check.

That's just life. My entire message in this thread is to just walk/drive away. That's all anyone needs to know.

Good luck in court. Self defense is hard to sell when you had to chase down the other guy and pull him out of the car. My guess is the cops and prosecutor are going to see those as two events and both guys are going to have to defend themselves in court.

Bottom line on road rage - ask yourself if it's worth going to jail, the hospital or the morgue? If the answer to any of those is "no" then let it go. Yea, be the one that backs down. It's not a home invader who is there to harm you and your family (which is worth going to the hospital, jail or morgue to protect).

good advice, but it's all about the moment, a lot of people can't control their temper and just lose it,
For me, in the past I have swore at people or given them the Vs but like 2 weeks back, when this 4x4 cut into my lane had to slam on the brakes and hoot him, was a close one. I just pointed at the dashcam, and had a swear to myself
I do find that having a dashcam does make people think twice, even on my Vert I have a rear one,
People see a camera, and it does make them think, as a camera don't lie ;)

Just to clarify what I wrote earlier. I carry a pistol legally...have for many years...my son is a cop...Medal of Valor recipient...Officer of the Year...I've been through Level 1 of a Police Academy, etc. I know the laws...and consequences.

When I said I would point my .45....read again....in only the most dangerous of situations or "attacks" against me/my car....
You cant shoot someone for harming your car. You legally get out if you can and let him do what he wants to your car. You cant shoot someone unless your personal being is in a life threatening situation. Even showing it will get you in trouble.

Then again, Im from CT and damn near everything is freaking illegal

I have bad news for you. This wont end well for you. You cannot shoot someone for taking your property or vandalizing it.

Depends on the state you live in and the circumstances in which it happens (ie robbing you, carjacking you, being in your house and taking your stuff) your state CT is castle doctrine so yeah in CT you have an obligation to retreat unless it was in your "castle".

Stand your ground state=use force in self-defense when there is reasonable belief of a threat, without an obligation to retreat first.

Castle doctrine state=
an individual has no duty to retreat when in his or her home, or “castle,” and may use reasonable force, including deadly force, to defend his or her property, person, or another. Outside of the “castle,” however, an individual has a duty to retreat, if able to do so, before using reasonable force.

And in South Carolina, your car is your castle when you're in it.

It's not just the diesel asshats. It's just about anyone in a lifted pickup. I was driving my fiance' home in traffic, and some asshat in a lifted ecoboost F150 pulled up next to me and started revving and pulling forward and backing off - even though we were in traffic. I ignore him, and he finally just guns it into an opening and drives away. Turns out we both take the same turn about a mile down the road (he was still ahead of me), and I put it in cruise control. He drove slowly until I caught up, tried the same crap, and I ignored him again. I turned at the next light, he looked like he was going to go straight. He pulled into the turn lane behind me and followed me for the next 5 or so miles as I drove, very purposefully, at exactly the speed limit, in cruise control. Took about 5 turns through random neighborhoods before he finally peeled out and left. I wasn't going to drive to her house with him so obviously following. I was about to drive to the nearest police station when he finally let off and left.

People are crazy. I don't know if I inadvertently did something to trigger him, but I can't imagine what it was. I drive fast/aggressive sometimes, but not when it's a surface street with heavy traffic.

Well in return I have some bad news for you: You are wrong.

But can just a few of you actually focus on the real message for once? YOU SHOULD JUST WALK/DRIVE AWAY.

Well said. Dashcams are power. Why does one think all the road rage/driver fails/karma videos are predominately in Russia and other FSU republics? Because all (most) of their cops are corrupt and can be bribed, and sworn statements and affidavits and such are worthless. Dashcams are your only defense over there. Goldengooner is right, the cam don't lie. :headbang:
